We finished our cruise in BA and decided to spend several nights to explore the city. We prefer smaller, more personal hotels so the Algodon Mansion appeared like a good fit for use...and it was the best decision we made the whole trip!! We were dropped for at the hotel in the mid-afternoon and immediately greeted by Leonardo, the afternoon/evening manager, who assisted us with our luggage, made us comfortable in the lobby, offered us a drink and talked with us for nearly 20 minutes about our cruise...it was the perfect greeting. He then presented us with our keys, had our luggage sent to our room and escorted us to our wonderful room Fifth floor. Our room was spectacular! Large, well equipped, beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and bright and sunny. We overlooked the lovely gardens next door and the bathroom was enormous and a feast for the senses. The hotel is on a more quiet side street, so there's not the rush of traffic either in noise or vibration. After relaxing the rest of the afternoon, we went down stairs to the amazing lobby, where Leonardo immediately attended to us with complimentary cocktails and snacks. The lobby is studding, with amazing historic details (like the iron works) well preserved but a modern flair throughout the property (the men's room in the lobby is one of the most beautiful bathrooms I've ever seen!). The next day, Rodrigo (the day manager) was there to help us with any questions or assistance we needed. He too was the best! Throughout the rest of our stay Leonardo was there to help us...securing a car to get us to the airport, providing us with directions and insuring our general comfort throughout our stay. It was an amazing visit and we can't wait to go back...and the only place to stay is here at the Algodon Mansion!!…
I usually do not leave reviews for hotel stays, but Algodon Mansion deserves the best review I could ever leave for anywhere I have ever stayed. First off, the boutique hotel, although it only has 10 rooms, was one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. The rooms were spaciously amazing, comfortable, clean, full of amenities and you felt like a King and Queen in their very comfortable beds with exquisite decor and artwork. We loved the fire place too! We traveled with friends and they made sure our rooms were on 1 floor together which just shows the detail that they take with people when they book with them. Thank you Leonardo! You will have access to a full bar 24 hours a day, and since they are also owners of a winery in Mendoza, you have all the delicious wine to drink. They keep a spread of either cold cuts, breads, pastries, desserts and snacks at all hours of the day and they will even let you order whatever you want for breakfast every morning from the restaurant next door which is also included with your stay. The even bigger bonus is that they will deliver the meal to your room for your convenience. One thing I loved is that they keep the front door locked all day which made me feel that much more safe and comfortable. The location was perfect! We walked all over town, when you arrive back, you are greeted with a huge smile from Sophia or Nicolas as they run to let you in. The staff...They were not just staff, they became our friends. They are like a family. ALL were caring, warm and would take the time to help us with bookings for restaurants, hair salons, cars, tours, whatever you want, they are there to help you. We truly miss every one of them. Thank you for making our stay the best! Until we meet again, thank you Leonardo, Federico, Sophia, Nicholas and Rodrigo! We know that we will see you again soon and we would not book a stay with any other hotel in Buenos Aries! Thank you for making our stay the BEST and most enjoyable!…
Algodon is one of the most comfortable hotels we have every stayed in. Leonardo and Rodrigo do everything to make you feel completely at home. We had an Ambassador Suite which was large and sumptuous. The hotel is quiet and spotless. They also have food and drink in the bar area all the time - one never goes hungry or thirsty at the Algodon. (Algodon even has its own winery in Mendosa.). This doesn't sound like a big deal but it was actually very convenient and welcoming. We are finicky about hotels - lots of things annoy us. But the service, warmth and luxuriousness of the Algodon put it at the top of our list.
I’m a bit delayed, since my stay at Algodon Mansion was a few months ago. This is my first review, I hope it helps. My family and I, we consider ourselves R&C obsessed ! Everywhere we go R&C properties are our first choice due to the charm, elegance, architectural style, location, the list goes on and on but wether a Castle, a farm, a former monastery a sophisticate luxury old house… the quality of service never fails. Algodon Mansion it’s a gorgeous hotel, brilliantly decorated, beautiful and spacious rooms, the location couldn’t be better. It was the poor quality of the service that disappointed us all. The staff is very friendly and polite but you never know where they are. Minutes waiting for someone to appear at the front desk, the bar, to get an extra pillow or towel. We see the same people covering all the areas and this is not what we are used to, not in a R&C where the average is 3 employees per guest. We paid a lot of money without hesitation given all our previous experiences and even the efforts of the staff, we think this hotel in particular need to hire 3 or 4 more employees in order to avoid the ghosting sensation when nobody is around. Most of all to remain qualified as a R&C. That being said, we think the current staff is extremely professional, friendly, helpful… we are not criticising the employees. They are not enough and it’s a pity, the minute we get into the hotel we loved it, the lack of runners, bar tenders, butler, etc was unexpected. We plan to come back next year to do our Antartica Cruise. We are having second thoughts about where to stay in Buenos Aires. We hope Algodon Mansion we’ll take this review into account. Respectfully Mrs. Lilibet Ward- Hayden…
We stayed at Algodon Mansion for 9 days right after Thanksgiving. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are spacious. It's situated in a nice quiet neighborhood which is central to all attractions. By the second day we felt like we were at home. The breakfast service next door and all day snacks/wine/drinks were just icing on the cake. Leonardo and the rest of the staff are super friendly and helpful. One thing to note is that the hotel itself is very quiet. Staff is generally a front desk person and the maid. We really enjoyed that aspect but if you are looking for a bustling, large hotel this is not for you (but it should be!) Spring is a great time to be in BA and I recommend bringing cash (USD) to make sure you take advantage of the local exchange rate.
The first thing that strikes me about Algodon mansion is the warmth of the welcome. My husband and I arrived via airport taxi and we were met on the street by Frederica and Fernando to help us with our bags and ensure all was well with our transfer. The next is the main building of the hotel it’s lovely and tranquil and framed with multiple large floor to ceiling windows so the hotel is bright and airy to allow in as much natural light as possible. Next our room, such attention to detail from the furniture to the bedding to the spacious marble bathroom with large rain shower and soak in jacuzzi bath. The style here is real quality, elegant, sophisticated but not showy. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful but what sets this hotel apart from other 5 star hotels I have stayed In across the globe is that all wines, beverages and room snacks are complimentary. This gorgeous hotel in the heart of the Recoleta neighborhood has their own winery in Mendoza and our room was well stocked with their award-winning wines . If you are contemplating a visit to Buenos Aires this is the place to stay. Located within walking distance to multiple tourist destinations but overlooking lush green gardens. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and I was particularly touched by the kindness of the staff members Fernando and Frederica who are both so charming and attentive to your every need.…
My sister and I had the best stay at Algodon Mansion. The rooms were so spacious, comfortable, and beautiful, the location was perfect — very close to many attractions but also on a quiet street in a lovely building — the breakfast and snack bar were delicious (and constantly refreshed throughout the day), and above all, the staff are the friendliest, most helpful and welcoming, and all around best people we had the pleasure of getting to know during our entire time in Argentina. Leonardo and Federico particularly went above and beyond every day to ensure our stay was excellent. I can’t recommend it highly enough for your next stay in Buenos Aires.
Everything about this hotel is appealing-the location, the large size of the rooms, the small number of guests, the cleanliness, the reception area with a bar and food included, and especially the very hospitable staff. We stayed here several times as we traveled through Argentina and it always felt like we were coming home.
We absolutely loved our stay in February. This hotel is in an excellent location within walking distance of many attractions and restaurants. The personal service provided by the staff, specifically Oriana, was amazing. Our room was huge with one of the most comfortable and largest bed I have seen in a hotel. It was really great to be able to come back to the hotel to the snacks and wine provided throughout the day. The breakfast next door was also very good and a great way to start the day. The last time we visited Buenos Aires we stayed at the Four Seasons, this will be our new go to. Do not hesitate to book, great staff and location. Worth every penny.
We were there for four days before flying up to spend a few days at Iguazu Falls and for a few days when we returned.....all while the Corona Virus was expanding and immediately before Argentina shut off flights coming in. They couldn’t have been more kind and helpful. Besides that extraordinary treatment at a difficult time, it is a lovely place to stay..huge comfortable rooms and suites, Lovely breakfast and snack foods out all day and free excellent wine from their own vineyards and winery. Personalized service from the friendly and very capable people at the front desk. And in a prime but quiet location.
