We loved Mystic House. While traveling around Argentina, we have kind of made this our home base, staying 3 different times. The rooms are very nice and a lot bigger then other hostels we have been to. The staff is wonderful. Manuel and Scarlett are super accommodating and friendly. Very attentive. Even the turtle that the hostel keeps (resident for... More

Overpriced! spots on blankets and pillows nasty plastic matts in the bedroom malfunctioning drain in the shower. It became a lake in the shower. A bit noisy on the lobby floor, but a pair of ear plugs sealed the deal. Very basic breakfast. No bread left in our second morning. They were out of bread since it was sunday and... More

We had the room on the lobby floor. It was very nicely decorated and it wasn't very noisy even it's on the main floor of the house. Breakfast was very simple. People were very helpful and we liked it there. It was a little tricky to find the place as there is no sign at the door.

Good location in quiet neighborhood, 10 minutes from the metro (Palermo) and close to several parks and good restaurants. Renovated room with great bed and new bathroom. We found the bathroom not so clean, but the next day was ok. Basic breakfast with cereal, milk, coffee, bread, jam, but no fruit.

This hostel is very cozy and beautiful. And has the best kitchen I found in a hostel, very new and clean pans and cutlery. Next to a nice market also, very good place to stay if you enjoy cooking.

I have never before seen any place that combines this personal care and high level comfort at affordable prices. The light rooms that are furnished with very good taste and the sun terrace are really a place to relax in the middle of bustling Palermo. Thanks a lot to Ines, Angeles, and all the others who were there 24/7! Susanne

Would recommend Mystic to those travellers with a bit more money to spend on decent accommodation. Mystic is well run, it´s very clean, comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It´s really close to the heart of the Palermo scene, so get out and enjoy yourself.

I stayed for a week, having come over for my friends wedding. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was amazing for hostel standards - its basically a small hotel with some rooms sharing a toilet whilst others are ensuite. I would recommend the Mystic to anyone tralleving to Buenos Aires and looking to stay in this district.

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
