The secret to Casa Brigit is that it offers everything you need and allows you to make your choices. Brigit has plenty of advice on what to do and where to go but if you decide to just do your own thing that is also perfectly fine. Love that flexibility. Breakfast is equipping you for whatever you are up to,... More

A beautiful house that Brigit our host has renovated with rustic rooms looking out to the terrace which is a great place to enjoy the sunshine. The lovely kitchen/lounge area is a great place to also relax. Brigit is a wonderful host and has great advice on what to do and where to eat in Buenos Aires. A great location... More

Brigit's b&b in San Telmo is close to the city & not too far from the metro. Buses run down her street 24/7 with a supermarket close by. We chose the studio which is in the front part of the house & apart from Saturday night was quiet enough to sleep. Next time I would prefer one of the lofts... More

I was really charmed by this place, and even though I was regularly heading over to Palermo to go out I loved coming back here. Brigit is really helpful with any enquiry you may have, so it feels like a very laid back place to come home too. I had one of the small courtyard rooms on the first floor,... More

Stylish old house, tastefully renovated, comfortable rooms in rustic design. Dining room with huge fridge for everyone to use, ample breakfast, delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. Brigit the hostess, will give you great advice about how to make the best of your stay in BA. Many of the major sights are within easy walking distance.

The location is very central and close to many attractions. The decor is very attractive, the place is extremely clean, and there is a nice, shaded rooftop patio that is great for reading. Brigit is quite helpful and let us use the common areas for several hours when we had a very late check out. The best deal is the... More

At the risk repeating many others, we also would highly recommend La Antigua Casa de Brigit. Well priced and certainly value for money. The location is very convenient to many good restaurants and the antique sector and despite the odd graffiti and broken pavement, very safe. Brigit is a very warm, gracious and accommodating host. She is a wealth of... More

My review will echo many of the excellent reviews of Casa de Brigit. The location is great, walking distance to many great restaurants and sights. Sure, there is graffiti on the streets, but it is a charming and safe neighborhood. Brigit is always available to help with transportation, restaurant or shopping recommendations. The rooms were quiet with a good ceiling... More

We stayed there twice - coming and going to/ from various places in Argentina. Outstanding value for the money. The brick walls and high ceilings lend a bohemian air, which we liked. Nice restaurants in walking distance. Could not ask for more, especially at the price.

First, echoing other reviews, Brigit is a fabulous professional. She arranged for airport transportation (pickup and delivery) and was helpful in recommending the best of restaurants in the area (eg. El Historico is around the corner), museums and even a place to find professional and interactive Tango venues. The apartment at the back of the building is clean, well furnished... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighborhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighborhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
