We decided to stay at Cabrera Garden after doing a thorough research of available lodgings in the city, looking for a place that is quiet, well located, close to decent restaurants, done in good taste and reasonably priced. This property has only three very well appointed rooms, it is basically a house re-conditioned to receive guests, and you are treated... More

Elegant and cultivated residence aesthetic with a gracious and considerate host. Spacious, comfortable, well appointed and stylish suite with a big well equipped bath, and walk in closet. Thank you Robert for your attentive and thoughtful service.

We stayed here while attending a conference at the Hilton in the Peurto Madero area. Instead of staying in the conference hotel, we opted to stay in the Palermo neighbourhood which had more character. The guest house is expertly decorated--Robert and Norman have paid considerable attention to the details, mixing antique furniture with modern art. The home is also surrounded... More

Reaching Cabrera Garden was like checking into heaven after some long days trekking and camping around Patagonia. It really is a calm, tranquil, quiet, clean, comfortable and welcoming home. I mostly had the place to myself, which was a plus after sharing a tent, and I only wish I had more time to stay and enjoy it! So much beautiful... More

Cabrera Garden is located in Palermo Hollywood. The area was safe for walking and it was easy to get a taxi on the next street to go into town. We also walked several blocks over to get ice cream one evening and really felt like we were in the local area of Buenos Aires. Parking is available in front of... More

My wife and I stayed at the lovely Cabrera Gardens in January during our 4 week visit to Argentina (and second stay in BA). The house is beautiful and secure, with stunning decor, a lovely garden and small pool - an oasis in the midst of Palermo. We stayed in the comfortable and spacious Santa Rita suite for 5 nights... My partner and I love the Cabrera Garden, where we stayed for five nights in January. We had the best room, the Santa Rita, a quiet, romantic, second-floor suite overlooking an enchanting, small garden. Breakfast was delightful and the whole place is clean and tastefully decorated. Robert, the host, is very intelligent and easy-going, always there when you need him,... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cabrera Garden is the holiday home you wish you had, and hosts Norman and Robert the wonderful friends you wish you had looking after it. There are just three guest bedrooms in their impeccably restored 1920s house, and they fill up fast. The Santa Rita suite, with a separate living area and balcony, is the pick of the bunch. It has a staircase leading down to the garden, where gigantic potted plants, a banana tree, swimming pool and pet parrot create the perfect tropical paradise. Guests wile the day away poolside, before retreating indoors to the elegant living room. Home-cooked breakfasts are served on the patio and the attentive hosts offer a complete concierge service at no extra charge." Time Out Buenos Aires. ... more   less
