We first arrived and was pleasantly surprised. Rooms looked nice and for thought we was in for a good two nights! How wrong were we!! So the electric was not working which to be fair was not the hotels fault as it was a problem with the block. Ok fair enough..... But we got told it would be on in... More

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. It was an interesting experience. I have positives and negatives to say about our stay. On one hand, I liked that it was an old building so it gave an impression that we were living like locals. The hotel is really cute inside, it has a big atrium and rooms are on... More

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Parada, which is only a couple blocks off 9 de Julio and Ave Mayo. The small courtyard and the design is very neat. Front desk speaks English, a plus. We changed rooms during the trip from an inner courtyard facing room to one facing the street. There was no air conditioning in either room... More

We stayed at this hostel for several days. Its location is superb and while it faces the street - we didn't have any noise issues. The rooms are fairly clean and the staff members are friendly. Note that it's very basic and the rooms are quite small. You may also need to let the water run for a while, if... More

We got through a friend's recommendation (not a friend anymore). When we got there it looked like crap from the outside, but the inside looked pretty cool. -First thing my girlfriend noticed was the sheets, stains and hairs. The clerk gave us new sheets but we had to change them cause the housekeeping crew only comes in the morning. -Wifi... More

My wife and I stayed in Parada for 3 nights. The location is great and you can basically get a great Buenos Aires experience without the need of public transportation. Service was great and our room was very properly clean. The receptionist was very nice and allowed us to stay 1 hour past our check-out in the room. The only problem... More

Rooms are spacious and clean, set around a lovely old courtyard.  The courtyard has exposed brick and stone, rough, earthy coloured rendering, and bits of stained glasses, together with industrial touches such as exposed metal work and girders.  Overall the design works really well.  First floor (superior) rooms feature same design, but like all rooms lack aircon, and are marginally... The hostel is very secure. I had agreat room with large double bed off the courtyard on the first floor with separate toilet and separate shower room, all clean and well appointed. Location is convenient for a downtown stay and easy walking to main attractions. Staff were excellent and held main bag over until return from Montevideo. Noise from street... More

The hotel is well placed and with metro stops very close by. Secure front entrance leading up to nice courtyard area with rooms above. Rooms are clean, spacious and well appointed. Bathroom was a wet room so loads of space but be careful after showers as floor will be wet even after using the 'squeegee'. Breakfast was a simple croissant... More

Rooms are clean and simple. Tv with international channels and wifi in the room. We found it rather pricey for 250 per night... But its Buenos Aires. Location is excellent. Only one staff member speaks English. Breakfast is a croissant with coffee and included in the price. Stayed here for 4 nights.

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
