The location was good, and the building was in good shape. The staff were pleasant and spoke English. The breakfast offerings didn't change at all over the four night stay but there was a good selection.

The location of the hotel is good. The room was huge. The hotel is a bit old but extremely clean. They have a great spa as well. Breakfast could be improved and they include wifi in the rate. I don't know if it would be my top choice in buenos Aires but wouldn't mind if I stayed there again

I was there for a short stay and while the location was very centric, there were plenty of problems with this hotel. Besides what I already mentioned on the title the neighborhood does not look very safe with hobos living on the building next door, the rooms are ok but small. The food at the restaurant was kind of average.

We stayed 3 nights when we first arrived in BA and 1 night at the end. The hotel is tired but generally clean and the staff were generally friendly but the location is great which is why we returned. However, our last night had to be rebooked to the following evening due to an air traffic control strike which caused... More

Very old and shabby room, noisy air conditioning and the sheets had ink marks. Poor breakfast with a lot of low quality pastry, loaf dry bread and orange juice from bottle. Their check out is at 10 A.M

First, this hotel is NOT in the Recoleta area, and its not much of a spa if that is what you are looking for. It is centrally located and though it has four stars at its door, this is at most a three star hotel. Rooms are average, all have air conditioning, bathrooms have great water pressure though you are... More

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. This hotel was quite good for the money. Their breakfast is truly awesome and they have free internet throughout the entire facility (I was able to do free skype calls from my room). Location is great: only 5 blocks away from the subway and 10 min drive -or by subway- from main train "Retiro"... More

Great location, in Recoleta(5 blocks from the emblematic corner of Santa Fe and Callao) but also very close to the centre (5 blocks from Teatro Colon for example) cafes and restaurants are nearby. The heated indoor pool is great and not so common for a hotel in this price category in Buenos Aires. The staff were very helpful (I asked... More

We checked in at 1:00am and the staff was not very cheery. In fact we appeared to be bothering them. We then entered our room only to find it appeared to still be under reconstruction. Missing and loose molding, door didn't shut right, sink blocks the bathroom door, toilet seat is falling off, shower tile is old and broken and... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
