My cousin and I stayed one night in this hotel which made a pleasant change from two other bland modern (and more expensive) hotels we also stayed in for overnight stops in Recoleta during our one month trip. We liked the foyer and our room where we appreciated the two separate areas - one area with twin beds and the...

Service extremely slow ar the reception, room not very clean. I was extremely surprised that they charged 100 pesos to keep the luggage. First it happened to us. Not impressed. However great location.

I booked on TripAdvisor and arrived an hour later. The receptionist tried to charge $20 higher than what I'd booked. Took 20 minutes before he agreed with the TripAdvisor price. Ridiculous. Hotel is in a good location and the room was ok, other than one of the pillowcases was dirty. The room was very hot and after trying for 10...

The hotel is good, breakfast is very good too, but there is a littel problem if you stay in rooms in side 07. I and my wife arrived in the hotel on Saturday so the hotel was crowd. We got the room number 407. The room was cleaned, the bad was good, but at night there was a sickning smell,...

I stayed four nights at the Marseille des Anges hotel in Arenales. The hotel is well-located in Recoleta and the building is a quaint, French-style place with character. I was travelling in the Argentine winter so temperature outside were low and I could not wait to get into the warmth. To my delight a sign in reception read "Room temperature...

The hotel is only nice when you look outside. The building is nice but the service and the rooms are awfull! They gave me a room with a pillow full of hair - that means the linens were not be changed! The windows is broke and doesn't close well. Disgusting. Finally there is a man named Juan in the lobby...

The hotel as such is nice but our stay was horrible. They took out the money as soon as we booked (weeks in advance of our stay) we had to ask every day for airco to be turned on (and then call again because they did not after asking the first time). They made a photo copy of the credit...

I've made a non-refundable reservation by mistake one month ahead of my effective stay through Booking.com. Although management confirmed that they were happy to cancel my reservation, it was not willing to put in writing and in the end they charged me the entire amount!!!! Simply CROOKS. Good luck if you book with them

Really surprised by other travelers comments!. They ask you to pay in advance, now I know why. First night the safety box didn't work, so next day the changed me to another room, OK. I stayed for four nights. Three of them without elevator, air conditioned (Buenos Aires temperature was about 33-40º degrees), wifi and TV. The staff useless and...

This was my second visit to this hotel. It's a beautiful building, and the staff is friendly. The breakfast is okay, nothing special but good enough. The location is great and within easy walking distance from many interesting sights. I'd have given more stars, except for two things. The first: the safe in my room was not functional, and I...

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.

“Reservations no longer count - if a group comes they have priority over previous reservations (I had booked in march and only got a cancellation information when I got into the hotel at the end of september)! I reserved via Booking and on arrival at 14 hs. told me the hotel was overbooked and no chance of giving me a room - on my complaint via booking they sent booking a list showing they would have had ample room space (!!!)
