Everything was good. We played a lot of Pool. If they would have a kitchen, I would rate the Hostel with 5 Points. The rooms are very nice. The breakfast is amazing and is already included in the price!

I stayed in 2 of the top-rated hostel in the San Telmo part of Buenos Aires (Circus and América del Sur) and had a great experience in both but Circus undoubtedly was the better of the 2. While both had great common areas and social activities, Circus had a beautiful pool area and superior bedding (i.e. A plush comforter and...

I spent the last few days of 2016 in Circus Hostel & Hotel, Chacabuco 1020, San Telmo, Buenos Aires, Argentina. As the name suggested, this is an inexpensive, minimum amnisity accommodation. However, the hotel room I had had everything I needed and everything was clean and working. The location is convenient. Only one block from the San Telmo market and...

I was only here for one night, but in that time I had a good stay. I didn't find it noisy at all despite being there on a weekend.. Probably dependent on floor level. Room was airconditioned all day, which was fabulous considering it was stinking hot and my previous hostel advertised aircon then charged for it. Super clean, good...

Loud at all hours, dirty, unfriendly staff, and uncomfortable beds. Our first night we froze as our AC was preset to 18 degrees. Turns out you have to ask the unfriendly desk staff for a remote to adjust the AC, which didn't work well either. Breakfast was pretty good, but they're slow to clear tables and many tables were left...

Based on previous reviews, we were looking forward to our stay here. I believe that high score reviews are for this place as a "hostel" not as a "hotel." In our opinions, this place should not refer to itself as a hotel. My fiance noted that even as a "hostel" this was the "worst hostel" she had ever experienced. We...

Thank you for your review. It seem that you shared your stay with a group. groups always are noisy . Thats way is not very common that we accept groups. All of Circus rooms has double glass windows, and all the doors are thick doors because are fire proof. That Group noises seems to be louder. Sorry for that. In...

The last 4 years we always stay here around november/december with a group of tangodancers. The atmosphere is great. Nice and friendly staff. If there is a problem they are willing to help you and come with a solution if possible. Clean but simple rooms. Breakfast also good. We had a great time this year.

I stayed mainly because I saw they won an award recently for best hostel or something. There wasn't anything wrong with it, it was an average experience for me. I have stayed at many, many hostels around the world, as I've travelled to 11 countries. I know the internet can be poor in developing countries but on my 2nd night...

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
