Excellent hotel very well located in the beautiful neighborhood of San Telmo. Charming and comfortable rooms include excellent service and a delicious breakfast. It is definitely worth it to stay in this small but trendy hotel while in Buenos Aires.

When I do return to Buenos Aires, I will definitely be staying at the Telmo Hotel Boutique. Not only are the rooms spotless clean, the service they provided are simply second to none. I have stayed in many 5 Star Hotels and I must say, I have never had as good an experience as I had staying at Telmo Hotel... More

If you are going to Buenos Aires I would really recommend everyone to stay in Telmho Hotel Boutique simply because it is the best. So simple spotless clean with a fresh smell at all times, I really do not know how do they maintain that smell. Big rooms with 2 floors and a big LCD TV. most important is that... More

We spent 6 nights at the Telmho in February. The location at Plaza Dorrego can't be beat. There are only 9 rooms. The design is very contemporary. We particularly enjoyed the roof top terrace (which was not used much by other guests when we were there). Despite being right on the square our room was very quiet and we slept... More

Great location in the heart of historic Buenos Aires, San Telmo. The hotel is literally in front of Plaza Dorrego and if you stay there on a sunday,.. you'll have prime location for the San Telmo sunday fair which is a must to do your souvenir shopping. Antiques can be found all over San Telmo any day of the week.... More

The Telmho Boutique Hotel has a fantastic location on Plaza Dorrego in San Telmho, great for antiques, tango, steak and wine! The hotel is very clean and well presented and the staff were kind, courteous and very helpful. We stayed there for 3 nights each at the start and finish of a trip across South America, and returning to the... More

It's obvious before entering that the location is great and within walking distance of nice cafes/restaurants and the Sunday San Telmo fair. It must be noted, however, that cash payments are preferred and that flashes of any major credit card will be warrant, at the least, an unfriendly grimace. With that said, the breakfast was delicious, the rooms clean, and... More

I found that the rooms started at $75, prices must have gone up recently, and the rooms at that price have only a twin bed and sleep one person. The one recepcionist during the day was not very friendly and a acted like helping us was a big deal. I didn't get a good feel from him. It tainted the... More

While Buenos Aires is one of the world's biggest travel bargains, this jewel of a hotel likely tops the "bang-for-the-buck" list. The rooms are actually compact loft suites (most anyway; a few are more conventional in their layout)--two story units with a day bed, desk and bathroom downstairs, and the bedroom upstairs. At these prices, visitors hardly expect all this... More

Like several other reviewers, we came across this hotel by accident. We arrived in Buenos Aires and had reserved an apartment which for various reasons did not work out, but that is for another review. We were walking around Plaza Dorrego looking for a place to stay and noticed Telmho. We rang the door bell, and were immediately greeted by... More

Staying in San Telmo

Neighborhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
