this hotel was on a narrow side road, but located in a very central location that was extremely convenient. The hotel had a fantastic staff and breakfast was included. The rooms were very modern and although some people complain about the lack of privacy in the clear glass shower, all one had to do was throw the towel over the...

I recently spent several nights at Casa Calma with a group of teachers visiting Buenos Aires for the first time. From start to finish, the customer service was excellent, and the location in relation to many of the sites to see in downtown BA was key. The front desk went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable,...

This hotel in the downtown of Buenos Aires was a big reason why my trip to BA was such an amazing time. The staff spoke english and helped me with everything getting. The concierge service gave me lists of activities to do and didn't steer me wrong once. Our room was large and had a nice balcony to see the...

The room was amazing, the staff were so friendly, they helped us find restaurants, attractions and even gave us a map with all the good parts of Argentina circled for us. They have free bikes, an amazing breakfast, and in such a great location, I can't fault this hotel.

Our stay at Casa Calma was a pleasant experience from start to finish. Friendly staff greeted us, all with excellent English and check in was done within 10 minutes. Our room was on the top floor (9th) and was very clean and spacious. The only thing I would point out is that there is no bathroom door - it is...

Wonderfully friendly staff sincerely interested in the quality of our stay and the our trip overall. Really loved returning to this serene oasis after hustle bustle of BA. Lovely breakfast. Staying here GREATLY added to the quality of our trip as a whole. Remember only bring US dollars to Argentina and buy Pesos as you need them from the front...

this small hotel exceeded expectations. We were so glad we started our trip in such a convenient location. Room was spotless, front desk was friendly and helpful, called taxies, made dinner reservations & gave directions. We spent 3 nights there and after that no hotel seemed adequate. We were lucky to be given a room upon early arrival (10 A.M.)...

We had used airbnb for the first week of our Buenos Aires trip, staying in an apartment. We then had three nights in the somewhat rural Puerto Iguazu so for our final night in Argentina, before the long flights back to the US, we splurged (and it was still extremely well-priced) on a night at Casa Calma and we were...

,,excellent service, nothing is too much for the young hotel team! Big and clean rooms, cozy beds, double jacuzzi, bath robs, great breakfast included. Very good location, close to Florida Street, Puerto Madero, huge shopping mall. You must visit the amazing tango show that starts at 8pm (not every day, ask at the hotel reception) at Centro Cultural Borges in...

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
