We spent one night at Casa Calma before travelling to the rest of the country. For us, it was a great choice to spend one night. It's within walking distance of the Teatro Colon, which is a must-see while in BA. The room was quiet, comfortable and well-appointed. The one drawback is the area. I didn't feel particularly safe walking... More

This hotel is an oasis of calm in the city. The welcome was friendly, the front desk was very helpful with suggestions of tours and restaurant bookings and all queries were instantly attended to. The room was large with wooden floors, ample storage and all the expected amenties. The huge bed was very comfortable. The double spa bath was a... More

This hotel was wonderful. Friendly and helpful staff. When we shared it was our 25th anniversary, they sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne. The front desk staff speak perfect English and made excellent suggestions for local attractions. The breakfast was simple, yet delicious and the service was warm and welcoming. The rooms are so lovely. The jacuzzi tub came... More

This hotel really is a great find. We booked through booking.com and apparently that was enough to get us a room on the 6th floor overlooking the street. The double glazed windows are enough to kill the street noise, and although we were jet lagged and exhausted, we slept really well. Very clean apartment, roomy, and a comfortable bed. The... More

This small hotel was quite a find, very central to the Florida area. It is quite small with around 20 rooms. our room was large, a large window for light, a very comfortable bed and a big bathroom with a Jacuzzi. What stood out for me though were the staff. We stayed 2 nights only and on the second night... More

I really enjoyed this boutique hotel, especially after spending a couple of nights in a place without double-paned windows! The service is excellent and the staff always helpful and cheerful. The room was big and bright and very comfortable and clean. The location is very central, only one block from the busy 9th Julio Avenue. But since it was a... More

My husband and I were in Buenos Aires as part of our honeymoon. We stayed at Casa Calma for three nights and were extremely impressed with the level of quality and service. Whether it was dinner reservations, printing important documents, or giving us tips on places to check out, Casa Calma didn't disappoint. The bottle of champagne they had waiting... More

Casa Calma is a cute, boutique hotel. Since the reception area is small, we weren't expecting the rooms to be so spacious. All staff members were kind and approachable. We spent 3 nights here, then visited other cities. When we returned for one last night before our international departure, the staff remembered us and we received a hearty welcome back.... More

We only stayed here one night, but wished we could have stayed longer! The service we received was amazing, very helpful and spoke English. The room was great. Bed was very comfy and loved the jacuzzi. Would highly recommend, the room was very good value for money.

I stayed here for 9 nights with my very demanding friends! The staff was fabulous, organizing trips and special services for us before and during the trip. Their recommendations for what to do and where to eat were perfected suited to our requests. (and believe me we had many requests which were always received by smiles and suggestions) Loved the... Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
