Knowing that I would take the Manuel Tienda Leon bus service from Buenos Aires' airport to the center, I looked for a reasonable hotel that was within walking distance to Manuel Tienda Leon's terminal. That's how I chose Hotel San Antonio, an old but very pleasant accommodation option. The furniture and the equipments are old as well but everything makes... More

Book a room and take a shower....you'll be suprised :-D Wi-Fi available at high speed! The reception is like always very friendly and helpfull and will... More

The hotel is conveniently located to move around Buenos Aires by all means of transport. Several bars and restaurants are around the corner to suit everybody's needs and tastes. Although a little outdated, could use some refurbishing, you get what you pay for. The offered breakfast had a reasonable selection to choose from. Staff were outstanding and very helpful. Would... The San Antonio is a very good cost benefit hotel. Well located, is in the micro center of Buenos Aires with restaurants and transport nearby. Has a reasonable breakfast and morning. The rooms are old but clean, as is the bathroom. The mattresses are comfortable. Wifi works great.

Rooms are really tinny and not good for older people, because of the bathroom. But are clean and confortable. The staff are amazing! Very nice and gentle. Coffee break is fine. The location is great: easy to catch transportation for all place at the city and also good to walk (but not alone in some streets around at night). Lots... More

We stayed in the San Antonio hotel as part of our tour of Argentina and Brazil just before Christmas in 2013. We were pleased with the hotel, it was clean, served it's purpose, friendly staff and the location was perfect, being close to a lot of the main attractions. We heard a lot of bad reviews about Buenos Aires prior... More

Nice hotel - rooms are good (although a bit confined - partly former flats being separated into different hotel rooms - therefore quite noisy), friendly and helpful staff, breakfast quite OK (Argentinean style). Forget the view - it's located in BA's centre ;). But this location really helps when checking out the surroundings, e.g. restaurants and bars in the neighbouring... More

This hotel was included in our organised tour so not much thought from us went into booking it. We were pleased with the cleanliness and brightness of the rooms, however they are small especially if you are sharing and the bathroom in the twin room we had was tiny! Reasonably quiet twin room with double door way to corridor so... More

First hotel on tour of Argentina and Brazil. Been on many tours starting in a city and this hotel is the expected standard. Small room, clean bathroom. Yes there was noise but no different to any other hotel. Safe in wardrobe with fridge, didn't unpack as only there 2 nights. Staff helpful and friendly. Let me use the computer which... More

I stayed here from May 2 - May 5, 2013 as part of a tour. Some people were sharing rooms, whilst in my case I had my own. When I entered the room I was shocked at just how small it was. I had great trouble laying down my suit cases, let alone opening them up. Once I did open... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
