The Tanguero is a small hotel on a quiet street in Microcentro, in easy walking distance to all central attractions. The hotel is delightfully themed with cabinets in the pubic areas tastefuly displaying original tango momentos. The staff were friendly and helpful, our room was spacious and of a very high standard, and the breakfasts plenful including the inevitable 'medialunas'.

We were staying 3 nights at the hotel and we enjoyed it very much. The rooms are big, very clean, breakfast is very good and the service is also OK. The hotel is located very close to the center. I really highly recommend to use the hotel.

Great ambience and interesting artifacts displayed about Tango. Made you feel you were in Buenos Aires. Excellent location, good staff & breakfast. Room was a good size & very clean, bed was comfortable. Will definately stay again if I am in Buenos Aires & I would recommend to anyone.

This is my third stay at this hotel and this time I actually booked it through Trip Advisor, the rate was excellent, the service and food excellent as well and they were extremely accommodating as they booked our taxis and Tango Shows perfectly. I am sure we will stay here again in the future.

In at the birth of tango in BA, this 1880s building has the period style furniture, the decor, the trompe l'oeil wall art, the photos, to bring the era to life. Great atmosphere in a boutique hotel. Friendly, helpful, efficient staff; 20 rooms. We enjoyed the "Diamante" suite - sofa, 2 chairs, comfy beds, 3 pillows. Sadly, no air extraction...

Despite the fact that wifi was extremely poor and intermittent, this was a well located and nice hotel that had some sense of old world Buenos Aries about it. The beds were too soft but not the worst I have had.

We love the little boutique hotels outside of North America. They all seem to have that little bit of personality that is missing information the big hotels of home. This one does not fail to deliver. A great central location, wonderful accommodating staff. The rooms are clean, the breakfast very filling and of great quality. Staff couldn't have been nicer....

We (2) had three nights in this small, lovely hotel in the city-center. Everything is fantastic there: it is small, has an individual characteristic (Tango), the rooms are equipped modern and clean, but in an old-looking style with wifi functioning, breakfast was good, the service very friendly. Staying here, you could really imagine stepping outwards and meeting Evita Peiron. If...

A hotel is basically a place to you sleep in comfort outside your home. In this sense Tanguero Hotel does not fulfill this basic function. Although well located, in the central part of Buenos Aires, and with a boutique style, very beautiful and well decorated, failed in its basic function and do not provides comfort and a relaxing night's sleep....

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
