I first came to casa grande in 2006 and fell in love with the place. i returned twice since then and plan to go back again soon. Very interesting and unique building. not your average guesthouse. the owner sally was very nice and tells great storys. the restaurant is fantastic. it is an old adega where they used to make... one of the most exciting holidays we ever had: stayed 4 weeks at Casa Grande! We met so many great people, musicians, had sessions and party all the time! And our host- lovely sally- was always having new plans. From fado night to rockn roll fever- she knows whats going on. We visited all the wonderful different beaches in and... More

Visited this beautiful old grand mansion with my girlfriend in September 2012. It was great, in spite of the rain falling the whole 3 days we spend there. Sally is a warm, friendly and joyful person. She was having her birthday and we even got invited to her birthday party and met a lot of her friends and family! We... More

Visited on a Sunday evening in November, quite a few customers in and service prompt and efficient. Starters nice but pizzas ok and no more, glad we went and tried it out but probably use one of the other pizza resturants in the village next time

Not for those who like everything spotless and sanitised. Full of old world character and charm which includes the very friendly and entertaining hostess. Like staying with a favourite aunt. A beautiful old house with spacious bedrooms and balconies. Close to beach and centre of an attractive fishing village. Well worth visiting. We wished we could have stayed longer.

CasaGrande is a exceptional experience, warm welcome and soul full place. It is not a hotel, its a home. Sally is a great host and the restaurant is very good! We had a nice time, although it was to short! Jeroen and Jolanda

I first happened on the Casa Grande 25 years ago and was delighted to find the intervening years had not changed the ambience, the decor, or the welcome from hostess Sally...indeed, she appears to have discovered the secret of eternal life and is a bundle of energy and the font of all knowledge when it comes to anything Algarvean. Want... More

Nothing like what you expect and everything you look for as a traveller. A beautiful old mansion lost in time and space, looking over the dragon trees from the window, feels like you want to stay forever hanging out with the others guests, who are all feeling the good atmosphere from the highly entertaining and lovely owner Sally at the... We have just come back from a 10 day stay at Casa Grande and had a great time. If you are looking for a bland concrete apartment do not go here but if you are looking for something with a bit more character and warmth then this is the place for you. We had two rooms at the front of... More

If you want 5 star monotony, and matching pressed bed sheets then this is not for you - However you will get a really warm welcome, interesting conversation, great food, chap wine and a unique house full of individual charm. Working out how to get constant hot water from the plumbing in the 'cottage' we stayed in was all part... More
