This well kept secret is situated in the “Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano”, land of gentile rolling prairies bathed by the blue sea and unruly beaches. It is this protected Natural habitat that now welcomes “Casas da Lupa”. The purity of the local architecture on the outside combined with the modern construction and comforts on the inside create a welcome surprise to all those that visit us.

Had a wonderful stay where Maria does ... does everything that you could wish for. And if you want to find out about why Love does, then check out the book in the book shelf Love Does by Bob Goff. ... and don't get put off by a few blemishes to the cover. The dog loved it too! :-) enjoy

Very nice, charming B&B on the coastal country side of southern Alentejo. The Mastersuites with the small private patio are very romantic and intimitate. Very calm - nice breakfast - very nice staff and welcoming atmosphere - good WLAN. Bathrooms have space for improval - very small and in "ok"-condition. Unfortunately there are - in our point of view - not really good restaurants in Zambujeira do Mar and we didn't want to drive 20 km in the evening for a dinner. That's why we appreciated the opportunity of a very good cold plate at Cases da Lupa. And it was really romantic!

Having arrived at nightfall, we were panicking due to the remoteness of Casas da Lupa. We were truly concerned about the location and difficult access. Barbara had patiently waited for us till later than expected. Both her and Conceição kept checking with us throughout the day and reassuring us that time was no problem: “no stress” is their motto, typically the way of Alentejo. They were truly concerned about our apprehensiveness but somehow calmed us down and after a most amazing night sleep, we woke up to a glorious morning in a no less glorious surroundings. To call it paradise is an understatement. A delicious and high quality homemade breakfast was served in a simple, cozy but sophisticated atmosphere. Their personal attention continued through our stay and extended after we left. They kept checking on us. And LUPA, the darling dog that knew whose room was ours and accompanied us to the door every night, making sure we were tucked in. They made us friends for life. We miss them and will return

We booked this as part of a road trip driving from the Algarve to Lisbon, although only 2 stars it couldn't have been more perfect. The staff made us feel so welcome from the minute we arrived and showed us to our gorgeous room. Very stylish yet homely with beautiful views. Lots of ideas for local restaurants as they don't do evening meals here but happy for you to bring food in and use the microwave and they provided us with plates, cutlery and glasses. Breakfast was delicious and they gave us some great ideas for local walks. We then went on to stay at a 5* hotel which was supposed to be the perfect end to our road trip but we just preferred Casas da Lupa and wished we had stayed there for an extra night. Will definitely return. I suggested that they put a small table and 2 chairs on the terrace outside the room as have deck chairs which I don't find particularly comfy but that was just a suggestion and not really a problem.

Beautiful! Maria is lovely and friendly and the hotel set up was tranquil and beautiful. The breakfast was delicious and we found the relaxed set up of the place really restorative. I remember being a little concerned before we arrived as we weren’t quite sure what to expect. The reviews are amazing and the photos are beautiful but it’s listed as a 2* hotel on TA which gave us pause. However, it lived up the the reviews and photos! There’s no restaurant but there is a menu in your room where you can order snacks and meals with a bit of notice. We didn’t do this but it was nice to have the option. Quite a few dogs around (including the eponymous and lovely Lupa) so consider this if you’re not keen on dogs.
