Ex Hotel Garcia da Horta was a splendid gastronomic reference in its heyday. Now catering for groups only no restaurant - clients need to find food (lunch or dinner) elsewhere in the village. Fortunately O Miradouro next to the public swimming baths is only across the road to delight you with very good food, excellent terrace overlooking the mountains in... More

Rooms were comfortable with a nice view from the balcony towards the hillside and the little church on top and there were extra blankets in the wardrobe if the nights became a bit chilly. The breakfast was continental style - nothing to write home about but perfectly adequate. There was a small bar upstairs and a TV lounge next to... More

The weather was bad during our stay so it was a bit cold in the hotel too but orherwise our stay went good. The rooms are big enough and the beds are comfortable. The buffet dinner was tasty and in quantity. The receptionists were welcoming and helpful

We stayed two nights here although we had only intended to be there for one. This was because the hotel was very much to our taste and the town is a delight. The hotel staff were welcoming; the room and bathroom spotless; the bed was comfortable and the balcony overlooking the pool a plus. The buffet breakfast was adequate but... More

We stayed here for one night as part of our tour of Portugal, heading south. The hotel is nice enough, nothing special. There is free parking, and an ok breakfast. The rooms are a bit tired and the tv is very tiny and high up on the wall. For one night it is fine. We got some extra and very... More

This hotel is comfortable and has all that you need. The town is beautiful and well worth visiting. The bedroom was fine, with a nice balcony. The pool could have been cleaner. The breakfast was adequate but better for coffee drinkers than tea drinkers. There were no regular teabags, only herbal, which is not what is required in the morning!... More

Castelo de Vide is a pretty hill town of Roman origin in Portugal’s Portalegre district, which borders on Spain’s western boundary. It is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Portugal and is known most for its sizeable Jewish presence in the Middle Ages. It has a Jewish Quarter with the oldest synagogue in Portugal. The hotel is a true... More

The hotel is in a very good location just outside the old city (5min walk from the center of town) and this is probably the only good thing about it. The hotel is in a desperate need for refurbishing. Breakfast was a bit weak too .

When we stayed it was unseasonably cold and wet weather and unfortunately as a result staying here (two nights, two different rooms 207 and 211) was a bit like being in the spooky hotel in The Shining. Wind was howling in the gloomy corridoors and there were never any staff on reception or in the breakfast room - or other... More

loved the hotel, but the roomkeepers are very noisy - I went to a wedding, and arrived at 4:00AM, and since 9(:00AM I didn´t sleap nothing - that was the worst thing that happened to me, because that day I was thinking on walking and knowing the place, and I couldn't do-it, because I was extreamely tiered and sleepy.
