We stayed at the Puri Bagus as part of a multi-stay package and we were impressed with the service and resort in general. The outside sunbathing and pool area are elegantly equipped and spaciously organised. Our room was a sea view room and it was a beautiful view at that! The window was large allowing in lots of natural light and the high ceiling gave a great sense of space. There were all of the necessary amenities in the room including tea/coffee making facilities and ample wardrobe space. The bathroom was located outside which was wonderful! The bath and toilet are under shelter, however the shower is open aired (although private) which was delightful! The food in the restaurant was well presented and very tasty and the service was friendly and efficient. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because of the lack of information regarding how to spend your day. The resort is very much geared up towards relaxing and ‘chilling out’ and we’re the sort of people who like to get out and explore, so some more information on how to do this would have been great. It didn’t end up being an issue as we managed to find a taxi driver online. There is free WiFi at the hotel, however the speed is very limited. If there is one thing that really lets the hotel down, it would be the on-site dive centre. The staff were extremely unhelpful and were not the least bit interested in assisting us with any diving excursions, despite being a centre specifically for this. They couldn’t wait for us to leave really. Apart from that however, we were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely stay here again!

I was here as part of a yoga retreat in January 2020 for 6 nights. First and foremost, the staff is second to none. I couldn't believe how friendly everyone was, from the managers down to the gardeners, always saying hello to me and learning my name almost immediately. The breakfast offered daily is very good ranging from pancakes and pastries to eggs, cereals, fruits, and fried noodles. They also have some fresh juice available, orange and guava were consistent everyday, while banana, avocado, pineapple and watermelon fluctuated depending on the day. In my opinion, the restaurant here is better than what you'd find in town, I was very pleased with each of my meals and they are all quite affordable. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained with flowers, palm trees, and birds. We practiced yoga each morning in the Yoga Bale with open air all around us to enjoy the sights and sounds and also keep us dry during some quick rain storms, quite a fun experience. I walked along the beach each morning and also sat at the pool admiring the ocean, all less than a 2 minute walk from my front door. They have local cultural activities offered throughout the day (yoga, towel folding) and also have a shuttle available to take you into town if you want to go to a store or restaurant. The wi-fi here was a little hit and miss for me, but I had no problem with it missing to help me get away from it all a little bit more. It takes about an hour and a half to get to the airport from here and an hour to get to Ubud, but if I'm going on vacation, I'm trying to get away from the busy cities, so to me this place was perfect and I'll definitely be returning.

We had a magical stay at Puri Bagus Candidasa. The staff is so thoughtful and kind. Everyone learns your name and makes sure you have a lovely stay. The grounds are breathtaking, with statues and koi pond. The trees and flowers are meticulously cared for and you feel like you are in paradise. The Spa services are affordable and top notch. I recommend the massage with flower and milk bath. Breakfast buffet has a good selection with perfectly presented fruit and omlet station. Snack bar and restaurant are open late but room service is also available. If you want to come to Bali and relax this is the perfect place. An hour from the airport and busy streets of Ubud or Seminyak you really get the bali experience without the hustle and bustle. Many restaurants and small shops are within walking distance and hiring a driver to tour other areas is easy. We were here for a Yoga retreat and the Yoga Bale is absolutely gorgeous. Meditating with the sounds of song birds, waves and wind rustling through the palm trees makes this an exception experience. The beach is great for picking up sea shells or hiring a boat to take you to blue lagoon for snorkeling. After a busy day shopping in the city it feels wonderful to escape back to the resort where it’s quiet and restful. It’s truly a beautiful resort. I can’t wait to come back and bring my family. Each of the little bungalows come with air conditioning and refrigerator. Comfy beds, linens and fresh fruit that are left in your room daily. If you want exceptional service and a relaxing stay. Puri Bagus Candidasa is for you.

Returning to Puri Bagus is like visiting our extended family. The welcome from staff is excellent, they remember what we like and anticipate our needs and wishes at a high level. Food is excellent, housekeeping is great and we love the towel artistries , the laundry service is super, clothes are returned quickly and are beautifully presented. We feel really cared for and attention to detail is brilliant. The spa massages ensure that we leave relaxed and looking forward to the next session. Our yoga sessions with Ecka are tailored to suit our needs and abilities. Restaurant staff all give us great service and are super at looking after us. The cooks greet us and ensure we enjoy the range of food on the menu and take great delight in pleasing us when we have special dinners. Gardeners go out of their way to help us enjoy the beautiful gardens. Reception and front of house staff are extremely helpful and attentive. The pool boys ensure our Pagoda is ready for relaxation. Managers check out and listen to our suggestions. It is lovely to hear the gamelan and chat to the gamelan man. We love the traditional elements in Puri Bagus and it has been a haven for us, we look forward to returning.

Puri bagus candidasa is one of our favorite hotel in bali! People: The reception team are very nice, welcoming, and helpful. Thank you very much for accommodating us even in if we came without prior booking (on busy Christmas’s holiday). They gave us faster response than other hotel. Location: We can see sunrise from behind the hill, and sunset from the sea horizon. The sea side is wider than other hotel with same room rate (at that time), and there is almost private access beach with wave breaker. We can see live coral and fishes. Room: Huge bedroom & bathroom in well maintained condition (during pandemic many other hotels seems cant kept their cleanliness). Good water pressure, good hot water, separate shower & bathtub. We like the window between bedroom and bathroom, so we can watch over our kid playing bubble bath. Bathroom’s water is fresh, not salty or slippery. Gardens are tidy with many interesting plants. We also like the hammocks, yoga area, and 3.7m depth swimming pool.

The staff was without any exception very friendly and will do anything to make your stay excellent and unforgetable. Even the restaurant will try to forefill all your wishes and serve you the real Balinese food. Rooms were inpeccable clean, bed and bathroom were fine and the whole atmosphere in and around the hotel is excellent for those who want to withdraw some time from the hectic of the daily life and just enjoy the view at the seaside and make it a statring point for the exploration of the rest of Bali!

My friend and I just spent 3 nights at this wonderful Hotel.
Our arrival was warm and welcoming with a quick, friendly and efficient check in.
Beautiful service and ambience.
Our room was absolutely spotless and delightful with modernised bathroom and extremely comfortable beds.
Beautiful ocen view from our room 109, directly across from the pool and restaurant, so easy access to all. There was no noise in our room though we were close.
The grounds and gardens are beautiful, meticulously kept and are so well presented.
We chatted to so many beautiful people here, many of the staff happily employed over 15 & 20 years and still happy to be there and this reflects in everything they do and nothing is too much trouble. Such happy and warm people really made us feel that we had been there for a much longer time than we had.
My friend was slightly unwell on arrival developing to Bali Belly. The staff once again, so caring and helpful with remedies for this which helped with a fast recovery.
We mainly ate at the Hotel and I can easily say we enjoyed the tastiest meals that we had whilst in Bali for 14 days and staying at a few different hotels also visiting many restaurants! The Cocktails are also very nice🙂
The pool is clean and refreshing with towels readily in hand.
We also enjoyed Spa Treatments and loved every minute of it.
Candidasa is a quiet area, we safely walked to the main street, only a short walk with many friendly people along the way. Lunch at Vincent's and 6.30am visit to Lotus pond to see them open.
In all, we mainly stayed on hotel grounds and I am so glad we did. Do not think twice, just make the booking.
Old style charm, outstanding service and amazing people. It is easy to understand why the staff have worked there for so long. Well done Krisna.
Thank you to all at Puri Bagus for spoiling us and making us feel at home.

I also have to mention after talking with Wyan at the pool and discussing the Hotel he made mention if the sister hotel in Ubud. We were interested in this which developed into a quick 1 night trip to stay at Bagus Jati, all arranged so easily and Thank You Krisna for this beautiful experience in such an amazing place !

What can I say, AMAZING!. Candidasa was one of our many stops during our holiday in Bali. We stayed for a total of 4 nights here. The hotel is 10/10, absolutely beautiful. We were in awe when we arrived and had the most beautiful room that had a view of both the pool, sea and beautiful green scenery. The resort is quiet and your comfort is the staffs top priority. The staff are so so friendly and helpful, they went above and beyond for our stay (they even came to catch a spider for us that we had accidentally let in). Candidasa is a much quieter area in Bali but Puri Bagus is in a great location. The hotel has a restaurant and the breakfasts, lunches and dinners were all delicious. There’s lots of choice and as said before the staff go above and beyond. Excellent hospitality . We had a beautiful relaxing time here and hope one day we can come back.

We stayed 3 nights at the Puri Bagus and although we found some things disappointing we still enjoyed our stay. The hotel is right on the ocean front although there is not a beach as such, there are daybeds overlooking the ocean.
On our first day there were not enough sun beds at the poolside for the amount of guests (only 7 sun beds total) we asked the pool attendant if there were more and he said no so we were unable to stay by the pool but a couple of days later, when a different pool guy was in attendance, more sun beds appeared?
During the heat of the afternoons we sometimes go back to the room to watch the tv but there were only Indonesian channels, no movie or news channels available.
There are no safe’s in the rooms, safe boxes are available behind the reception desk but this is not always convenient, this is the ONLY hotel in Bali we have ever stayed that didn’t have an in-room safe.
The staff are all very helpful and nice 😊. The restaurant has a limited menu but the food on offer was good.
The rooms are big and set out amongst lovely gardens. The rooms have outdoor bathrooms which back onto neighbours bathrooms so that speaks for itself, you only need to imagine! 😂
All in all, we did have a nice stay but some simple things could improve the hotel greatly. The hotel rooms are in need of updating but given the recent pandemic and lack of tourists to Candidasa, it is understandable that these things will take time.
Candidasa needs more tourists, it is still suffering losses caused by the pandemic, if you have time in your holidays, please visit Candidasa as every little bit of tourism helps!

very nice, helpful staff - in a second all of them will remember your name :) you can count on them in any situation. nice beach at the hotel but...the swimming pool and restaurant is much more than just good. after some diving it was really good place to take a rest. the room was big and clean, breakfest - full variety of fruits, auropean/american style food,... the manager Agung Krisna Putra is super professional and helpful, creating very good mude in the hotel.

It is my understanding the beach is good for swimming. The pool is by the beach and we spent our beach time in the pool.
We did not walk the road out to the main road where there are local restaurants instead we had dinner each evening in the dining room over looking the ocean especially beautiful at sunset. Food here is well prepared. The hotel will take you out to the main road if you ask. I didn’t walk out just asked at the desk because it was too hot. Hotel is very accommodating.
There are more places to choose from in the Candidasa area.
