A very special place close to Cape Town - discover a hidden gem. A wonderful experience which I will recommend to locals and overseas guests. It is not a National Park, where the game roam in the distance and you can witness a lion kill. This is different and in many ways so much better - To make the most... More

We went here a few years back for a day trip. We drove ourselves from Capetown through Beautiful countryside and really enjoyed it! As it was quiet, we were able to get extremely close to the Lions (see photos ... no zoom!!) and found the staff and guide very friendly! Don't expect a full safari and you won't be disappointed!!... We had an amazing stay at Fairy Glen! The accomodation looked promising. Unfortunately we could not stay there overnight! The service was great, the lunch was very extensive and good and the safari was interesting. The ranger told us a lot about the animals and we had a nice tour! I would like to visit the place again and than... More

We visited the park in the in April 2016. We had several issues to what was a pretty poor stay. On arrival we booked 3 lodges and were only allocated 2. There was a clear divide between housekeeping staff and front of house who seemed to blame each other for the problem. This problem was resolved and we were given... More

We were able to get very close to lions, water buffalo, elephants (touch the elephant!), ostriches, zebras, rhinos and more. Entertaining and knowledgeable guide. A driver picked us up at our bed and breakfast in Capetown and drove us to Fairy Glen. Highly recommend this!

The ranger on the game trip was very competent and friendly. All the other staff, specially at the reception where unfriendly. mMaybe years ago it was a nice place, but haven't done anything since then. The diner was ok, the breakfast terrible, nothing fresh! No value for the price! Everything looks shabby .

We hadn't two night stay at fairy glen and had a great time . We saw lots of wild life and our guide deon was a fountain of knowledge. Our lodge room was clean and adequate and we were well looked after. We would definitely go again the next time we are in the cape.

This reserve is in a beautiful setting under the mountains. Everyone was relaxed and helpful and we learnt a lot in our time there. Even though it was wet and cool when we set off on our drive, protective capes were available and the weather probably made the animals more lively. Andrew our guide was very informative, with a friendly... More

Went here for a wedding in December 2015. Excellent location for a wedding, and no comments on the service there. However, we were transported in the more than antique vehicles they used for their game drives. One vehicle sprayed oil over the wedding clothes of pretty much all the passengers. When discussing what could be done about it, we were... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fairy Glen Safaris, a family owned business about a hour from Cape Town is set at the foot of the world famous Brandwacht Mountains. It was the cherised dream of the latest owner, Piet de Jager to transform the land into a big 5 game reserve, which was eventually realised through his commitment and dedication over the years. Fairy Glen's name is derived from the dragon fly who used to fly over the Glen (Valley) and was so big, it resembled Fairies. ... more   less
