Myself and my husband stayed here for 2 nights the end of November and can't say enough good things about it.Staff were so friendly and helpful,we had one small issue with our air con the first night we checked in and they couldn't do enough to try resolve it, even gave us a small gift as an apology and again... Spier was our home base for exploring Stellenbosch, and what a perfect base it was. We spent half of the first day just exploring their grounds, taking a run in the clearly marked paths around the property, wine tasting, petting owls at the raptor rescue and lounging by the pool. What they are doing at Spier is first class and... More

Spier is worth a full day of exploring - aside from the superb accommodation, the banquet for breakfast, and the lovely out door patios for wine sipping, the enormous property with all its historic buildings, restaurants, cafes, craft market and raptor sanctuary take a day to absorb. The complementary bicycles are awesome - you can cruise the property at your own... More

Perfect setting and very high quality service. Rooms are comfortable, recently refurbished and very large. Welcome at the reception was second to none and the staff at breakfast also deserve a mention... the breakfast offer itself is amazing: you can plan to skip lunch. Definitely recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The room was big and nice. The breakfast was very good. The location of te hotel is perfect: you reach Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Franschoek and the False Bay very quick.

As part of a 3 week trip to South Africa, my wife and I along with 3 friends spent 2 nights at the Spier Lodge. We had a very good experience. We had top class service from the initial greeting and processing at reception (glass of wine was awesome) to the room, the staff, the breakfast and the 2 dinners... More

Final 2 days of a three week trip - a place to chill and pamper. This was recommended by our Travel Agent and they were so right. 1692 Spier is simply lovely - we had packed in so much in the early part of our stay and suddenly we were immersed in this glorious place - we did not want... More

We had a great relaxing experience. regards. For us it did the trick as business people who are always on the run. It is a pity that we were not able to use some of the facilities. However we all know that there will be the next time. With more company the place will be even more fun.

Very nice hotel, we were here for one night and did not get to enjoy all it has to offer. Next time would stay a minimum of 2 nights and relax. The grounds are lovely, pool and spa plus a tour in the next door wine farm. Location is good, 10 minutes from Stellenbosch, and is a good anchor for... More
