Situated on one of the world's most beautiful mountain passes, Clouds Wine and Guest Estate is one of the jewels of Helshoogte. The relatively small, private estate is a working farm that produces its own wines. It also offers premium guest accommodation that blends designer luxury with all the modcons. A stylish destination surrounded by incredible views, a stay at Clouds is difficult to forget.

Views are out of this world but it ends there. I informed them on email that I have a special occasion (birthday) which they acknowledged on email but completely ignored when we arrived. The lady at the reception was unapologetic and felt like she's making fun of my occasion request. I informed another staff she said ohh we'll put a brownie in the room like I'm begging from you? And they didn't even do that just talking but no action. I was also placed in the worst room near the reception next to the bathroom and they didn't want to change saying "it's fully booked" although we arrived early and they could have made arrangement. I was also informed "oh why aren't you happy we have given you you the best room" clearly not. I am not sure how are you rated at 5 stars with such service. The rooms are dated and need renovation. Please learn to respect customers or else don't go into hospitality business. Waste of money.

Wow!!! The views were insane. The room was huge with private pool. We got sick during this leg today the trip, so appreciated the big room and quiet space outside. The staff was really great. We had a private driver take us to a few of the wineries in the area, and to lunch, and the area is stunning! We definitely want to return again!

We stayed in a one bed villa just away from the main building. It was huge with a lovely private terrace and views over the valley. Staff were very helpful and welcoming, it is spotlessly clean and comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for more for a couple of days total relaxation

Our stay at Clouds Estae was truly exceptional. A very warm welcome from the staff, that made us instantly feeling back home again. The location and the view is something special, you got one, if not the best spot to watch the Simonshill in its best colors during our evenings sundowners. Spectacular colors and amazing formations of clouds surrounding this hill. The location is perfect, the Tokara Restaurant within walking distance and when you have dinner or lunch at Delaire Graaf you got a lift with the golf cart. If you're looking for a nice boutique hotel near Stellenbosch, Clouds Estate should be your first choice for a memorable stay. Me

Stunning views. Fabulous staff. Amazing breakfast. Location is fantastic. Generous wine tasting (included). My room was large and my two patios were extremely spacious. It was an absolute treat to stay here, hard to leave. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Set amongst the vineyard, with the most stunning views. The hotel is spotlessly clean and a little quirky. We enjoyed the jacuzzi on our balcony and in the mornings we opened the curtains to the most breathtaking views imaginable. A little bit of heaven.

We stayed at Clouds for 3 nights for my husbands birthday last week in one of their villas. Clouds has a perfect location between 2 of the most impressive wine estates in Stellenbosch and the views from all parts of the property were breathtaking. The villa was a few minutes walk from the main property with a small double bedroom (and a very hard bed) a bathroom with toilet, double sink, wet room style shower and bathtub and a large kitchen, lounge, dining room with patio doors leading out to your own deck area with seating. Air con worked well throughout the villa and it was clean and relatively modern. We didn't use the TV but were advised it could be connected to our own Netflix account etc. This is effectively a small wine farm and the service standards aren't really what you expect from a 5* hotel. - I had contacted the hotel prior to our arrivals to get details of a driver service we could use to get from Cape Town to Stellenbosch. Their recommendation arrived in a pretty beaten up car (with the wingmirror held on by tape) which came to collect us, followed by advice to 'just use uber' when in Stellenbosch. Not what I had been offered in previous 5* wine estates. - The lunch/dinner menu is small and the same every day so you need to make plans to eat elsewhere unless you like the repetition. We ordered some of the light bites to our room on the firt evening to enjoy with our wine and a lot of what was listed on the platters wasnt included. - The staff are very nervous and unsure of themselves. The wine tasting felt like the lady was reciting memorized notes from a text book and my husband had to recue our bottle of wine at dinner as the waitress broke the cork as she didnt seem to know how to use the corkscrew. Overall a great location and good size villas to use as a base to explore Stellenbosch... just dont expect 5* hotel service.

Brilliant location on the Helshoogte road. Surrounded by top class wineries and Restaurants -Tokara, Thelema and Delaire-Graaf. Sensational views, great food and cosy lounge seating areas. Room 7 was spacious with two terraces as well as a outdoor spa (was too cold to enjoy). Easy 10 minute drive into Stellenbosch and about 35 mins to Franschoek.

Wow, this was a highlight of our trip in SA. Such friendly staff, great food and amazing view. The room was beautiful and picturesque with views directly to the mountain. The complimentary wine tasting was a nice extra touch, and the wine was of course sublime.

We visited Clouds Wine and guest estate in April 2023. We were visiting as part of our honeymoon trip to Cape Town. We were blown away by the stunning scenery and the team at Clouds are simply fantastic. They could not do enough for us. Upon arrival we were shown to the outside sitting area and given a glass of the MCC (fizz) and check in was easy. We were lucky to experience a wine tasting and the estates wines were so good.we purchased some bottles to bring home with us. Can we please thank personally Adrian and Asiphe with all the team for all your assistance and for making our stay truly amazing. We really enjoyed the food at dinner and breakfast and are so grateful that Adrian reserved a table for us. The quality of the food and the choice was excellent. The teams attention to detail and the selection of Clouds wine is brilliant. We hope to be able to visit again very soon. I’d highly recommend Clouds Estate.
