I'll start with the positives. The location is convenient. Near many of the bars and cool areas in Stellenbosch, and more importantly, near where I needed to be. The room also appeared relatively clean. No bugs or smells in the room and the bedding was free of stains. Free wifi was also offered. Extremely slow and unreliable, but better than...

Just needed an overnight stay so it served its purpose but definitely basic accommodation - suitable for backpackers travelling light I'm sure, but not for family stays or such, even in the private rooms. But in all fairness, that is not the target market of backpackers. It is not wheelchair-friendly, so it was a bit tricky with my son. I...

This hostel is located in a good part of town however this is where it ends, place is super run down and needs some £££ investing everything is dirty and sofa cushions all ripped or repaired badly. I stayed in an eight bed dorm that you can't swing a cat in as a result I spent the night sweating out...

This was my third visit over 5 years and I see no improvements only deterioration. No security and crime is bad in the area. I couldn't sleep cause I was worried about my car. Wifi is weak, beds uncomfortable, furniture is falling apart. Spend your money somewhere else.

We have stayed here many times over an 8 year period. NEVER had anything stolen. Not that we have much of value anyway we are travelling...That being said it is very possible. The staff are very friendly the place kept clean. Overall rather secure although all rooms appear to have been broken into many times. We have stored valuables in...

There isn't anything I could recommend about this backpackers. They do organise a 'value' wine tour. Kitchen is adequate, communal areas are adequate and the rooms are adequate. You get the picture....

Starting with the positives the lodge is cheap, has 6 bunk rooms and good hot water. Opportunities lie in warming the place up as it is cold and the quilts on the beds insufficient for winter temperatures. The wifi is average and all accommodation is shared bathroom. The staff were helpful, arranging excursions and helping us order in food.

This place has a very homely feel to it. The staff are fantastic and were able to advise on things to do at night. They also joined in on conversations and made for a fun night. I wish we had more time in Stellenbosch because place was great. Laundry service was prompt and the WiFi was fast! Thanks for a...

Stumble Inn is the perfect place to go if you want to experience the wine lands and not break the bank. It’s a great location, just a minutes’ walk from all the trendy restaurants and wine bars of down town. They also run a great wine tour! The backers itself has a lively bar and a nice garden to chill...

This was my 3rd stay at Stumble Inn as it is in a great location for transport by train and exploring town. The staff were friendly enough without being anything special. The amenities are very good, lovely showers, a swimming pool and a good kitchen for self-catering. Unfortunately they didn't have a key for our room when we checked in...
