Hoopenburg Guest House is situated in a secure enclosure on a wine farm just a few kilometers from the N1. It is very convenient for both Stellenbosch and Paarl wine routes, with easy access to Franschhoek valley or the highway to Cape Town. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. The hostess is accommodating. We certainly felt at home immediately. The... More

We came across Hoppenburg a little by chance as we had made no reservations. We thought we would just pass though but opted on staying. What a pleasure it was, spacious rooms, lovely breakfast and a bottle of their own wine waiting for you in the room, a treat to stay there.

What a lovely place. Beautiful setting. All home comforts. Lots of attention has been paid to the little things. Comfortable and friendly. And Twinings Lady Grey tea. Certainly a first. Loved the dogs and geese too. Breakfast delicious.

We received a warm welcome and enjoyed our stay from the quiet location to the quaint farm house. Breakfast was delicious and set us up for a day of winetasting in the nearby vineyards. Excellent value for money.

As there are few rooms, the stay was very homely and the manager / hostess of the guesthouse was very very helpful and hospitable. The living room in the guest house is yours to use as your own living room...... A special touch was to provide a complimentary bottle of wine in each of our rooms from the Hoopenburg winery... Warm and hospitable home from home! Looked at several options for our one nights stay in Stellenbosch and chose very well! One very small downside is the distance of about 15 kms from the Stellenbosch town centre which might put some off but we enjoyed the quiet and peace!

I Stayed at Hoopenburg for 2 nights while I had to attend various events around Stellenbosch and Klapmuts. I enjoyed the personal attention without intruding on my personal space. Very spacious room and a lovely outside area to spend time while there. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Even got a bottle of wine on the house.

Traditional home away from hustle and bustle (away from anywhere in fact) but easily acessable to many places of interest and attractions. Peaceful and pretty with an impressively efficient team running the show. Attentive and welcoming on every level. You will relax and sleep well (we overslept the breakfast cut off on the first day, but we're still cared for... More

This was a lovely place to stay. The accomodation was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. The only problem is that there is only one restaurant close by. The Eagle restaurant is "next door" but is about a 1km drive. We got there at 6pm on Sunday to find it was closing despite it saying 1900 on the... More
