My wife and I booked at the Lodge for two nights as part of a winelands walking tour. We arrived each day tired and hungry and left each morning totally refreshed and nourished with one of the best breakfast buffets we have ever seen. The beds were perfect, and rooms were absolutely quiet. The best part of our stay, however, were the three hosts: the nicest people you will ever meet, who were sooo helpful and cheerful. If/when we return to the winelands, our first booking will be at Eikendal Lodge.

We are returning customers and had another great stay at Eikendal. The rooms are beautiful and overlook the vineyards. The breakfast at Eikendal is the best and Leonie, the manager, makes you feel at home and gives personal attention to everything at the Lodge. Another major advantage of Eikendal is the Giovanni's restaurant on the premises which means that you don't have to drive from town after a very good lunch or dinner (Leonie will make a reservation for her guests).

We stayed at Eikendal Lodge for two days. Even with the welcome of the two women in the management you feel more than welcome. The few rooms in the lodge are in a beautifully situated idyllic garden with great planting. The furnishings of the rooms in the converted, former horse stables in 1998 are lovingly thought out down to the last detail. Breakfast is available on the terrace, which is joined by the garden with a small pool. The food offer for breakfast leaves nothing to be desired: Great fruit salad, Bircher muesli, nicely prepared sausage and cheese plate, fresh avocado, various breads, juices etc. Egg dishes are individually and cooked to order. We consciously chose a smaller hotel and felt more than comfortable. In Room 8 we had a small terrace with late afternoon sun.
We found the restaurant Giovanni, which is located on the vineyard and can be reached by vine planting on a path in about 5 minutes on foot. (Do not forget the flashlight for the way home). We ate here both nights and found the quality of the food great and the ambiance beautiful.
Since our return flight was only in the evening, we could have a late check-out for free. The car can be easily parked in front of the lodge. We would like to come back, but if so longer and say thank you to the management for the great stay.

Conveniently situated across the road from Cavalli wine estate, this is pretty much the closest you will get for any wedding guests. Having dealt with the property on email and telephonically they went out of their way to assist us and prepared a takeaway breakfast for my staff that needed to sleep late and skip breakfast. Great hospitality goes a long way and hard to find, they really far exceeded my expectations and I look forward to staying with them again soon.

Eikendal Lodge is a beautiful spot, amid vineyards and with the Helderberg mountains as a backdrop. The staff and service are excellent, very warm and friendly, as well as professional. Travellers who left their four-pawed friends at home, will enjoy Mr. Jack, head of security, a cuddly Jack Russell Terrier.

We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful and relaxing four night stay at Eikendal. We had stayed eight years before and it did not disappoint this time round. here We were looked after with great attention to detail by Leonie, Bernadette and all the other staff. Our room and the guest lounge were beautifully appointed and the surrounding gardens and pool were very well maintained. The vineyards that surround the lodge were a lovely sight each day and a pleasure to walk through. The lodge is only ten minutes drive away from the atmospheric old town of Stellenbosch and wine tours out into the surrounding winelands are easy to arrange and great fun. We thoroughly recommend this establishment for a break away from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town.

From the moment we made our reservation I knew we had made the right choice. Eikendal Lodge was so accommodating with an early check in. The room was spacious and cosy with lots of little extra special touches and beautiful flowers scattered around the Room. The helpful, friendly staff added to the charm of the place. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Time was spent sitting around the pool planning our day which included a free wine tasting on the farm. I can definitely recommend the place and I would gladly go back there.

A special thank you to the Team at Eikendal Lodge that made our stay so relaxing. It was truly home away from home. Comfy beds, well equipped rooms. Gorgeous gardens, swimming pool and breakfast room. Breakfast was fit for a King. Cereals, Fresh fruits, cold meat & cheese platters followed by a hot yummy egg & bacon breakfast. The coffee kept flowing:-) We were also surprised with a wine tasting experience next door. That was fantastic. Paired with the most delicious oxtail dish in town. From the welcoming receptionist to the cleaning team and management a big thank you. Nothing was ever too much effort. Hope to be back soon.

We spent a week here on a business trip.

There is nothing that compares to waking up in a Vineyard at the base of a beautiful mountain.

The staff at this lodge are extremely attentive, friendly and willing to go the extra mile for their guests.

The rooms are converted stables with all the amenities on could ask for.

The rooms have a small outside patio overlooking the Vineyard.

The breakfast consists of a wide variety of choices and is tastefully presented.

There is a restaurant on the premises called Giovannis, where the Italian fare is sublime!

The wine is very, very good and we landed up ordering a couple of cases.

The lodge is conveniently close to the centre of Stellenbosch

A wonderful experience, highly recommended

The first gem is Leonie who manages the Lodge and her guests with total commitment. Leonie went the extra mile to make sure that we were able to enjoy time with a grandson. The second gem is the Lodge, a tranquil place set in a beautiful surroundings. On the busiest bank holiday week end it was a plus to have Giovanni’s a short distance away serving good food and excellent wine.
