This was our second multi-day stay at the Wigwam. This is a wonderful place - great staff in all categories; great food; impeccable landscapes; etc. Would highly recommend to any visitor to the Phoenix area.
This review is based on how much we paid. It was definitely not "luxurious" and "elegant" as advertised. Customer service was weak. The grounds were lovely but that was the only thing they had going for them. Wigwam sent a message asking about our stay and this is what we wrote to them over a month ago. They never replied, so I'm posting my review on TripAdvisor. " Since you're asking about our stay, I have photos I would like to send you. I tried to send more, but I was over the limit your email address would accept. Our stay was anything but "elegant." Had you advertised your resort as simply "historic" rather than "elegant" we might be more forgiving, but the room was a huge disappointment. Outrageous price for what we experienced. It didn't look near as nice as what shows on your website. Stains on the shower curtain and living room curtains; Chips and cracks abound; Super grungy/dusty vents. We were also disappointed with our service. Check in was not very friendly; wouldn't not give us guidance on finding our room--just told us to see the valet. But the valet looked busy so we tried to find our room on our own. That was awful, as the numbers to the rooms were not lit. Took us a long time and some walking around to find it. When we tried your restaurant, we waited forever for service. Then when we did get service, our food came before our drinks, while we watched the waitresses chat with one another. The food was delicious, but we couldn't get past the fact that the servers just didn't seem to care. Not what we would expect based on your website and what we paid. We decided to try the adult pool and called to ask if we could at least bring water to the pool (we saw signs for no outside drinks, but you have to stay hydrated in AZ). We were told by the operator that we could not bring water and that there would be water at the pool bar. Well, the pool bar was closed and there was no water to be found. Just an empty water dispenser. However, everyone else at the pool had brought their own alcohol and food (both weren't supposed to be allowed, as they were "provided" by the bar that wasn't open). There were young girls in skimpy suits being photographed by the pool--kind of grossed everyone out. Not the experience we hoped for." You look at these photos. Does this look like a luxurious, elegant hotel room to you? Christine and William Dixon…
I've stayed here twice and was not disappointed at all. We will be staying again. We come to Arizona every year for the Nascar race and this will be our go to resort every time. Staff is excellent from the bartenders, waitstaff, concierge, valets and housekeeping.
I reserved 9 rooms for 4 days and had 10 people. The facility was very beautiful and quite a relaxing environment. The staff at the front desk & restaurants were over the top friendly and extremely helpful with all our requests. I had a chance to chat with some of the employees who seemed to be overall happy to work there and it showed. I would highly recommend the Wigwam to my friends and family and will most definitely use them again.
I stayed at the Wigwam because I was playing in a tennis tournament nearby. What a great, historic place the Wigwam is. My room was huge and very clean and updated. The tennis courts where I warmed up for my matches were in great condition and the people working there could not have been more helpful. I have stayed in a lot of luxury hotels and resorts but have never gotten such prompt and courteous service as I did at the Wigwam Resort. Room service was lightening fast! I was amazed! I had a problem with the shower head. The maintenance man was there within 10 minutes. He worked on it until he fixed it. The severs in the bar and restaurants were exceptional and attentive.
