Only 40 mins from the centre of Cape Town arriving at the beautiful Mountain Shadows is like arriving to a hidden place deep in the countryside. The Cape Dutch accommodation is charming and is matched by the friendliness of the family and staff. A delicious breakfast next to the swimming pool and sun downers at the dam are both an... More

We loved our stay and thank the Mountain Shadows team for making us feel welcome and at home. Thank you for accommodating the twins really well and we look forward to staying with you soon again. A highly recommended property less than an hour from Cape Town so great weekend get away for "locals" and foreigners in South Africa

Had the pleasure of attending my friends wedding here and must say it was a beautiful setting! Whit picturesque mountains in the back ground and beautiful grounds we could not have asked for a better venue. Staff were friendly and courteous and made the day run smoothly.

Four of us stayed a couple of nights and found it a great place. The owners Gerald and Kathy along with their staff made it a pleasure to stay there. The backdrop of the mountains was amazing. The breakfast was first rate. Would go back for a longer time if ever back in SA.

Although the website for this place looks great, we had a terrible experience. We were there for the Tour of Good Hope and the Argus. We booked 4 rooms for 8 people. The 1st rooms' aircon did not work, they were not prepared to fix it and merely bought more fans at 37 degree heat. This room also did not... More

We had the pleasure of staying at Mountain Shadows Guest House recently. We arrived on Saturday afternoon, checked in and rushed off to a wedding, resulting in no time to take in the stunning scenery. Upon our hasty arrival, we were greeted by the host, who was very friendly, and escorted to our room. The room was big and furnished... More

We have just returned from spending the weekend at Mountain Shadows. It was homely, comfy and really relaxed. The rooms are spacious and the manor house is beautiful. Stunning grounds, gorgeous sunsets and very kind and friendly hosts who go the extra mile for their guests. We will certainly be back:)
