We spent a night here as part of a tour along the garden route. The rooms were very smart, clean and tidy, and Jeanette made us very welcome at breakfast where a great spread was laid out. We're quite critical as a family when it comes to hotels, B&Bs, lodges etc, but we wouldn't hesitate recommending it as a place... More

Jeanette made our stay memorable and even catered for our halaal needs. Close to all activities in Oudtshoorn.(Cango Caves, Wilgewandel, Buffelsdrift, Ostrich farm, Cango Wildlife Ranch) A wonderful place tucked away in the mountains. A definite must to stay when visiting Oudtshoorn.

Wow what a lovely experience my family and myself had over the weekend at this accommodation. Our host Jeanette was a real treat and she went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. The highlight for our kids was the breakfast experience. Well prepared hot food and the good variety of cereals, fresh fruits and not to... More

From the moment we entered the Lodge, Jeanette, our host, was friendly and accommodating. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool. Close to Cango Caves, Wilgevandel and Cango Wildlife Ranch. Very clean and comfortable rooms and the kids had a loft which was a huge thrill for them. On our departure we learnt that this was Jeanette's and her son's Johan,... More

We had a great room for three on the second floor of the building where it has the reed ceilings and roofs. Amazing to know that they don't leak. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean and we had everything for making tea, a ceiling fan, air con and TV. The best part was the fabulous breakfast. Oh, they had... More

This was fantastic room with lovely decor. It had gorgeous king size bed with a much needed heater over the door to warm the room. There was a small kitchen so we could do a brew! Shower lovely and hot. The home cooking in the evening and for breakfast was fantastic. We travelled as a group and one 70 year... More

Lovely cottages set in pleasant gardens. The pool was in a garden location, an excellent spot for cooling off at the end of a busy day! The thatched cottages were large, with a small balcony area. The home-cooked food was delicious and interesting combinations, which worked well. Ostrich steaks were tender and perfectly cooked, the carrots were cooked with star... More

Not too far from the caves De Poort Lodge is a very nice place to stay at. The owners are very helpful, providing copies of maps without even being asked after checking where we were heading. Room was very spacious, comfy and clean. Of course with the traditional thatch roof there is the occasional bug, spider or ant but that's... More

We came as a group of six to this gorgeous place late one evening after a stressful day and delayed journey. We were warmly welcomed and shown to the most beautiful rooms we have ever stayed in. They were clean, comfortable, and there was incredible attention to detail. Breakfast was unbelievable! And we were well looked after by the owners... More
