We spent 2 nights at Surval, and used all the facilities. In particular, the restaurant is excellent and service level provided by team lead Willem is outstanding. The view on the valley and mountain is a real pleasure.

We had a super three night stay at this beautifully located olive estate. Our little lodge with terrace looking over the surrounding mountains was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The food in the hotels restaurant was very good - try the olive platter. The hotel owner spoke to each table every night to make sure all was up to scratch....

This hotel is a family hotel, not suitable for anyone wanting peace and quiet, and should be advertised as such. When we were there the small pool was monopolised by shouting splashing kids who also ran among the guests. (We were there at a weekend) That is the only complaint. The food was excellent, the staff very helpful, with a...

What a great surprise this place was! Wonderful location with views out towards the Groot Swartberge way off in the distance. Rooms a real treat with loads of space, great beds, well-designed and implemented bathrooms, top class linen and all the things you would expect from a 5 star establishment. I didn't have a chance to eat dinner in the...

Selected this place at random and ended up having a lovely evening. Both of us ordered the crispy chicken breast with side salad with sweet potato and ginger soup to start. Food well cooked and staff charming and manager circulated amongst diners. Great views and open air dining available. Would recommend.

There is always a warm friendly welcome for me at Surval . The main building and grounds are designed with charm. The rooms are luxurious, with a rustic ambiance, a lovely mix of the old with the new. There are wonderful views from the pool area of the distant mountains.

We visited this hotel on our Garden Route trip. The rooms where nice but the dining experience was a joke. We were told that a pre dinner olive tasting experience would be at 7:00 pm. We all met in the bar at 7:00 where it took an age to get a drink. We asked if we could view a menu...

My husband and I spend the night of 28 January at Surval, and will always remember, and treasure, this stay. On our arrival, the lady at reception, and the staff on duty, gave us a warm welcome. As we arrived a little early for check-in, we enjoyed drinks in one of the seating areas. Willem made sure we were comfortable...

This was my 3rd visit to Surval in the past 3/4 years, which has grown to almost double the accommodation capacity for 2017. Despite the expansion, Surval has lost none of its charm as a tranquil klein karoo retreat. We spent 3 nights enjoying the 1st class hospitality from the team, with special mention going to restaurant manager Willem who...
