I stayed two nights at Knysna Backpackers. I thought that Knysna was a bit sleepy, but it was winter so I guess that's expected. This backpackers is a great value for the money and a great place to recharge or catch up before planning the next part of your Garden Route trip. Muriel and Neil helped me get my laundry... More

We arrived to Knysna Backpackers at the low season, and paid 400 rand for double room with a shared bathroom. The staff welcomed us with a big smile and helped us. The kitchen is very equipped, everything was clean and comfortable. Really feels like home! Also placed in a safe area. Enjoy!

We stayed two nights at the lodge in a double room (without bathroom). It's difficult to rate our stay when looking at the price vs quality, but here are the pro's and con's: Pro's: - Very friendly and helpful staff - Breakfast is sufficient (bread with several toppings, fruits and boiled eggs) - Located close to the center, it's safe... We only had one night in this cute hostel but we had a good time. The staff is so friendly. Someone broke into our car and they helped us a lot. Too bad that it happened but the staff was feeling sorry and gave us the opportunity to use their phones, etc. They also looked after our car when we... More

The room was cold at night and the portable heat was constantly turning off during the night. Not too many options for breakfast. A little bit noisy when other people are in the room next to ours. Neil is very helpful. We arrived when the information desk was closed and he helped us to find our way. The B&B is... More

Wonderful place to stay, the location was nice and the kitchen was well prepared. The Breakfast with toast, jam, eggs, fruits, muesli, yogurt and milk was perfect. Even tea and coffee all the time for free. Just the dormroom we stayed in was little bit to small for six people, but in our 2 nights we were maximum 4 people... More

This hostel is very cute and very personal. The owner is such a lovely lady and very involved with her guests, and she has been for 19 years! The only downside to this hostel is that there are no lockers provided and that it's quite small (as in space) in general. We left after only one night because Knysna itself... More

If you are travelling on the Garden Route, do not miss to spend a night at this place. Super cool people are hosting you in this female touched hostel. Beautifully designed by mother and daugther, this place is cute and comfortable. A warm and truly personal service without any unnecessary pampering. The Knysna backpackers was a really good accommodation during my trip on the garden route. It was cosy and clean, had the feeling of a mansion - especially the front porch- and really helpful staff. The recommendations according to the activities were great. I would have missed out on a lot. The 24h attendance at the reception made it feel... More
