Having read a number of reviews for different places to stay in Hermanus, I decided to make a booking at the Auberge Provence for a two day stay in late December 2020. Hermanus is a gorgeous little town and we were specifically looking for something well located, ideally with ocean views and with a decent level of luxury. The property itself is truly beautiful and well appointed. It is located right beside the cliff path and has all the finishings one would expect from a luxury establishment. One can hear the sound of the ocean and can expect beautiful views from their room. What really sets Auberge Provence apart is the small intangibles. Phaedra was exceptionally responsive and accommodating both before our stay (assisting us with restaurant bookings) as well as during our stay where we would find little goodies left for us in our room when we returned from a day out. The breakfast menu has everything one needs and we truly enjoyed the warm hospitality we experienced throughout. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: The Lavender Suite is superb. Own splash pool with easy access to the cliff paths.

A beautiful spot to spend a wedding anniversary - spectacular views of the sea and easy access to the cliff path. Very tranquil and relaxed, with good service. Room was spacious with a lovely balcony opening up to the lovely ocean view. Can highly recommend.

A big thank you to Annie who has succeeded in making this a very special stay although a short one only, not forgetting Sandra who already called me ahead of my check-in for getting everything set up. I regret having stayed only overnight with arrival in the later afternoon and leaving in the morning after right after breakfast. However, during the relatively little time spent in the room I did enjoy an unobstructed view of Hermanus Bay-great! Annie has been extremely caring and succeeded in making the stay at this Boutique Hotel a special one with a lot of personal touch. It was again Annie who talked me into having breakfast as I wanted to leave with just a "coffee to go" – the breakfast is phantastic and the entire atmosphere so caring yet without persisting at all. It must truly be the best place to stay in Hermanus! – Thank you very much – I hope to come again! - Thomas

Arrived after a hot drive and were warmly greeted by the staff. Lovely room very comfortable overlooking the sea. Nothing was a problem and restaurants had been booked ahead for us for the two nights. Great breakfast to set one up for the day. We will return if visiting Hermanus again which is very likely!

If you are visiting Hermanus this is the place to stay. From the moment I arrived and was handed a glass of champagne I felt like I was home. Hazel and Charlene fussed around me and settled me into my room, recommended me a place to eat and directed me to the art exhibition tour. On the Sat my friend arrived and again Charlene set about making our stay the most pleasurable experience. Nothing was too much trouble for Charlene she was on hand for any of my requests and made me feel like I was at home. The place is beyond 5 * but the service Charlene and the staff offered me I would rate 10* The breakfast is to die for and the other facilities and location are the best in hermanus Thank you team from a very sad guest at the thought of leaving this place Hillary Peachey
