Harbour House Hotel enjoys the most prominent of positions in the heart of the Old Harbour area, flanked by the seaside and the bustling centre of this holiday town. The magnificent Lookout Terrace invites guests to revel in the soothing surrounds of the ocean ahead and enjoy a lunch from Selkirk's restaurant inspired by abundant local produce and fresh ingredients, alternatively savour a sundowner from the Wine Bar in the Pavilion. Guests are offered a choice of accommodation from the historical architecture of the slate roof seaside Manor House built in 1920, to the contemporary New Wing and Harbour Square. Rooms are luxuriously appointed with sophisticated modern décor, all within easy walking distance of the town’s top attractions, whale watching sites, markets, restaurants, street cafés and an abundance of reserved natural splendour.

The location could not be faulted and great food at a variety of restaurants in close proximity to the hotel but the room was a little shabby (the window opening mechanism was broken, shower head need replacement) and the cleaning staff did the minimum they could get away with.

This is the second time to this hotel. This time we decided to book a room in Harbour Bay Square as the rooms looked newer online. Although the rooms are smaller I definitely prefer them - newer and much more central. It’s not a problem walking across for breakfast or to use the

We booked a room online. When we arrived we were told it was an extra R750 per child per night - to share the same room (children aged below 7 included), on the couches (they call it a daybed, but they are not beds, its an L-shaped couch). That cost us an extra R3,000 for the

We had stayed here 5 years ago and chose to return for our 4 nights in Hermanus. Unfortunate- yes that we arrived the evening of a protest in Hermanus and had a police escort to get to the hotel. Beautiful but busy spot, rooms and hotel in general need maintenance and deep

Dear JWRug We are pleased to note that you chose to return to Hermanus. However, we are disappointed to hear that your return to our property did not meet up to your expectations. We have noted your comments and can confirm that an upgrade is scheduled for next year. We do trust that once complete we will be able to change your perception about us not offering value for money. Your comments about the staff attitude has been noted as well. We do hope to welcome you back again in the not too distant future. Kind regards, Harbour House Hotel Team

This hotel is great. The lov9is really ideal for whale watching and a walk from all the major sites in Herman's town. Loved it. Also a short drive to the wine farms and beaches. It's a perfect location for a tourist or someone there on business.

I would have thought you'd be able to get 2 bedroom accommodation at the harbour house hotel. Wifi is free here. There are lots of other places to stay in Hermanus including self catering accommodation. You won't see any whales in May though as it's out of season. There are plenty of places to eat also but not sure whether any Indian food available. Plenty of vegetarian South African and European cuisine. Would definitely recommend Grotto Beach for lovely walks - just up the road.

Yes. They do provide with very limited usage of Free Wifi but the connectivity isn't as good as it would be expected.
