My husband and I spent a wonderful weekend at Tantivvey. Our accommodation was excellent and our hostess was very friendly and made sure all our needs were met. A place I would strongly recommend to those looking for somewhere to stay for business or pleasure.

My girlfriend and I checked in at Tantivvey Country Guest House for a long weekend away from the rushed city life of Pretoria, from the moment we stepped on the property grounds we were blown away! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing there, the staff are always ready to help and the nature is indescribable! We will definitely be checking in there again. Tantivvey as well as George in general is a MUST for everyone local and international. If you are looking to have the best of both worlds regarding Country Life and City Life, I would 100% recommend this incredible Guest House! You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful location with open fields and views of the Outeniqua mountains. Situated just outside George on the old airport road. Excellent value for money - breakfast and wifi included. The hostess Cathy went out of her way to cater for my needs for 2 weeks. Food was varied and and very good quality. I would definitely recommend Tantivvey for a relaxing stay outside the hustle and bustle of George during peak seasons. Kennel facilities are also available for both dogs and cats.

My wife and I stayed at Tantivvey a few years back and it was a very pleasant experience. With this in mind, we were looking forward to our stay in November 2016, only to discover that Ted and Alba are no longer the owners and that there are now new owners. The whole atmosphere is totally different. The young man that greeted us seemed to be more interested in farming than in being a Guest house host. He asked whether we were a couple, and when informed that we were, he stated that we would probably prefer a room with a double bed, to which I replied the affirmative. Whereupon he showed us to a room with 2 single beds ?? The room was comfortable and functional, although there was no soap supplied in the bathroom at all - neither at the basin, nor in the shower. We had arranged for breakfast at 8 am and when we arrived at that time, the hot food had already been prepared and was left in bain-marie's. This was indeed a far cry from what we had previously had a Tantivvey. Now we weren't even given a choice as to how we wanted our eggs cooked - it was basically "scrambled or nothing". The "hostess" seemed out of her depth when it came to customer service and being a host, and seemed to think that we needed lessons on how to operate a toaster. In summary, I will not be looking forward to staying at Tantivvey again, and will in all probability stay somewhere else the next time that I need accommodation near George.

Stayed at Tantivvey from 18 to 31 Aug.'16. Booked on the affordable price and nice photos.Never met the owners who don't live there themselves.Room 2's bathroom was shockingly small and the room poorly decorated.I had to unblock the shower and basin drain myself with lots of drain cleaner granules. The room was filthy with dust.A reed bed headboard was very uncomfortable and a insect trap. The wall heater in the room was switched off after a few cold nights which I suspect was consuming too much electricity. This was done without my consent.I was bitten by fleas carried in by the manager's dog or a cattle pen 30m from the rooms.I was also bitten by a spider which required antibiotics. The breakfast was substandard. The manager was a rude and most unpleasant woman. The tv was cut off 5 days before I departed without any attempt to rectify the problem. The manager/hostess has no clue about hospitality and you get the impression of being unwelcome there. There's no concern for the security of you're vehicle.Tantivvey also has a kennels on the property and that's how they make you feel.Like a dog in a kennels.A shocking disappointment on a pretty property within pretty surroundings.
