Booked a three night stay with the establishment. On arrival I was told that the room I booked was not available (it was given to someone else, even though I paid). Seeing the I only had a few days in CT, I didn't want to waste time looking or alternate accommodation etc and agreed to stay in the dorm for...

We made a reservation to stay at this backpackers roughly 8 months in advance. I was travelling from the UK to East London and then driving down to Cape Town with my parents. We arrived quite late in the evening and luckily we just caught the lady at the front desk before she went home for the evening. Upon arriving,...

We slept peaceful without any noise. I lyk the fact that there were no cockroaches. This place is so cheap, for people who dnt have enough money for expensive hotels coz cape...

My mother and i were travelling from Pietermaritzburg (KZN) to Cape Town to spend a lovely Christmas holiday with my sister. What a nightmare..... On arrival (after travelling 22 hours) we were greeted by a dishevelled looking lady who had absolutely NO idea of our booking or the industry she is working in. After double booking us ( a fault...

From start to finish we had a great experience with Afrique Du Sud. We felt welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. I especially appreciated the safe and easy parking option just around the corner, as well as the walking distance to everything we needed. Free Wi-Fi definitely a bonus. Awesome location, comfortable room and friendly staff. I would visit again.

I booked it for 2 nights, The management was so lovely and welcoming, although there weren't any youngsters during my stay, I could understand why it can be a little hard to sleep if you are a light sleeper (which in this case I am lucky to be a deep sleeper;) I got the twin bed room along with a...

The staff is friendly and helpful, the location is good (close to the sea and many restaurants). Sadly the common areas are not very clean and the romms are noisy. We still decided to stay for a few days but there are probably better places in cape town. Price is also cheap compared to other backpackers in CT.

In just one night spent in Afrique du Sud we had the following experience: - a drunk girl invaded our dorm, yelling and smoking - three drunk guys arguing and fist fighting at the balcony right next to the dorms, in the middle of the night - a filthy kitchen, with piles and piles of dirty dishes - a dirty,...

This backpackers is situated in the perfect spot in Sea Point. Lots of shops and restaurants any way you turn. We stayed in a Dorm room which was everything one can expect, decent bunk beds and linen and all for a very reasonable price. This is actually the second time we have stayed here and I can't recommend it enough...

This backpackers in my opinion is one of the best places to stay in Cape Town. Its a 10 minute taxi ride to City Centre and a 10 minute taxi drive to the glorious Camps bay and Clifton beaches. The staff are very friendly and will be willing to help in any way you need. The actual set-up of the...

Afrique du Sud is the best-positioned Atlantic sea board seaside lodge in Cape Town. It nestles comfortably between the Atlantic Ocean and Lion's Head and is close to the city and the Waterfront on one side and the blue flag beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton on the other. All these attractions are easily accessible by buses, mini-taxi and MyCiTi buses. An Olympic-sized seawater swimming pool and an abundance of banks, shops, supermarkets, cafes, bars and restaurants are in close proximity. Wi-Fi is available too. You will always find a peaceful spot to chill out after a hectic day or night out on the town. The self catering kitchen is big enough for everyone to cook. ... more   less
