Sadly this is past its prime and really not worth anything like the money it costs. Location is good and at first it appeared ok but the staff really did not care and were not engaged at all, not prepared to do anything unless there really was no-one else to actually do it. The only person who did was the... More

This is a few old grand mansions converted into rooms and apartments. We were in room 17 - which has two bedrooms, bathroom with bath, living room and kitchen which opens onto its own veranda. The gardens shopping centre with Woolworths and Pick 'n Pay is a two minute walk. The kitchen had enough cooking implements to prepare meals. Breakfast... More

Mountain Manor is in a good location in Cape Town, easy walking distance to some great restaurants and shopping. The gentleman who works at breakfast and in the evening, Gift, is indeed a gift. He was charming and helpful always. However we found others to be not quite as charming.

The room was very comfortable, and had all the necessities one needs on a business trip. Secure off road parking which is a priority! Freedom to come and go, private and spacious.A well equipped kitchen, so if you want to self cater, then everything is there! Shopping centre is across the road, wonderful restaurants close by - especially the Indian... More

After 3 visits at Mountain Manor over the past year, I must compliment them on a first rate guesthouse, perfectly situated with high quality care and detail found in the rooms. Every time a refreshing experience!

We stayed at Mountain Manor in January after leaving our pre booked guesthouse due to the appalling attitude of the manager. Mountain Manor was totally different from that place. It has lovely rooms, a great location and friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Cape Town.

Thank you for your kind review and I think that you took the sun with you when you left!! Its wet and rainy (but I guess it is winter now) so the fires are roaring and the red wine is flowing. Hope to see you again in the future. More

I Have enjoyed my 8 visits to stay at Mountain Manor apartments. Friendly staff, pleasant rooms. The location makes all the wonders of Cape Town accessible. The balconies on the front apartments and wonderful for relaxing and enjoying the air of Cape Town. The rooms don not feel like hotel rooms, they are homely and comfortable. The pool is a... More

If you are looking to share with cockroaches, a large rodent and enjoy service/attitude from the Fawlty Towers school of hotel management, then this is a must! My two young sons & I stayed in room 18 of the self catering accommodation during February . Broken toilet flush on arrival, which took several attempts over 3 days by the plumber... More

Be aware - we live in the City. When the wind blows, we get cockroaches blowing around - when the fruit trees in our neighbours garden are in full fruit - we get rats and squirrels coming to visit them. We have City Council treat for rates on a rotational basis in the gardens - but we have to be... More

This was our fourth stay to Mountain Manor Guesthouse. There are plenty of more elegant places to stay in Cape Town, buth this guesthouse has its own charm. Friendly staff, nice rooms, and a private pool area where friends can relax. It is simply very nice!
