Detailed Reviews
Four Rosmead was highly recommended from a friend who knew we would appreciate the charm location and exceptional personal service. It did not disappoint from the time we arrived we knew we had made an excellent choice. Nothing too much trouble rooms beautifully presented everything we needed and so much helpful tips and suggestions to make your stay enjoyable. We were on a tight time schedule and were able to fit in a visit to Camps Bay and ride to the top of Table Mountain all because of the bookings and local knowledge at Four Rosmead. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with excellent choice of the freshest ingredients. Location fabulous just short ride to the Waterfront. This was first trip to Cape Town we loved it and would definitely stay here again. It’s a gem.

This is a beautful small guesthouse with everything you could ask for. Wonderful friendly and caring staff who want to help you make your stay in Cape Town a memorable and safe one. Breakfasts are delicious with plenty of choice, there's a lovely living area overlooking the garden and pool and each of our 3 rooms had an outside area to sit out on. We took Uber taxis wherever we went and this location was great for visiting everything in and around Cape Town. Thank you team for looking after us all so well and we hope to return one day (Steve, Bridget, Olivia, Brett and George) xx

This historical Cape Dutch home has been extensively renovated and the interior modernized. Our room was enormous and luxurious with 2 private balconies, one facing Cape Town and Table mountain, high pitched ceiling, blackout drapes over the enormous windows and french doors. The bathroom shower area was also huge and luxe.
Bespoke artwork, furniture and decor made it seem as if I had been invited to a friend’s weekend villa. The breakfast buffet and warm made to order breakfasts looked and tasted as if it had been prepared from Babylonstoren’s garden and kitchen, served in a lovely covered patio overlooking the pool and garden.
The morning manager Nadine was a wealth of information and provided the most excellent advice and concierge services specifically tailored to what we enjoyed doing and wanted to see. Her restaurant recommendations were all excellent and included a couple of local jewels. Cecilia provided great service in the afternoon for reservation changes and follow up questions.
The Orangezicht location was perfect, leafy beautiful neighborhood, uphill from Capetown with most attractions being only 10 -15 minutes away by car and walkable to Kloof St for walking, eating and shopping.
We can’t wait to come back!

Four Rosmead is beautifully kept and we had a wonderful room with lots of space and a double aspect. For first-time travellers to South Africa, we found the support and advice from Nadine extremely helpful. She kept an eye on our plans during our four-day visit, booking trips and restaurants and giving us tips on travel and security. We were probably a pain in the neck, but neither she nor Jade ever showed it.
The guest house is thoroughly recommended and is ideal for those, like us, who enjoyed its peaceful location. Those wanting to engage more with the waterfront scene may find it a little too far out. Uber availability was very patchy at night. Taxis were OK, but the blanket 200 Rand fare was nearly four times the Uber rate, although this is still cheap compared to the UK.

My family of 4 (including 2 teenagers) recently traveled to SA and were so happy to have Four Rosmead as our home during the Cape Town portion of our trip. Nadine and Cecilia were exceptionally warm and inviting. It is a small boutique hotel and the personal level of service was everything! We had two lovely rooms with views of Table Mountain and the quaint neighborhood surrounding. Both rooms had large tubs with bath salts, which were particularly inviting after our days of hiking and sightseeing in the cold. We were a bit nervous at first about travel during level 4 lockdown, but it actually turned out to be a blessing! Most destinations were free of other tourists and there were no lines or waiting anywhere. As restaurants were at only 25% capacity and alcohol was banned, we decided not to venture out to eat, but had meals brought in and the staff were amazing about setting a beautiful table for us in the main area. The result was more time relaxing and conversing with our teens. We also had laundry done, quite easily, and it was returned to us wrapped like a little present! So lovely! Breakfasts were freshly cooked, large and quite helpful for a day packed with activities. The staff at Four Rosmead made our stay in CT pleasant, memorable and completely stress-free. I would absolutely stay here again.

Just spent 5 nights at 4 Rosmead. Beautiful accommodation, downstairs with access through house or from garden. Room was very nice, bed extremely comfortable. Had a heat pump which was great as it got a bit chilly. Staff could not bend over more to accommodate any queries or requests. We arrived 10pm on a Friday night and were made to feel at home immediately. Saturday trip to Drakenstein Lion Sanctruay in Paarl was amazing. We “adopted” a beautiful lioness named KALA. We will continue to sponsor Kala. The park is really worth a visit as all the animals are rescued animals who have had appalling previous lives. Sunday the staff arranged an UBER Cash for us to Table Mountain. Great day as there was little wind and no cloud. It clouded over later in the day and was closed for the remaining 3 days of our stay. Staff recommended V&A Waterfront and it was so worth it. Unfortunately, weather turned on Monday afternoon so that day and Tuesday we were confined to indoor visits. Greenmarket Square was an experience. We enjoyed it and felt safe. Be kind and polite to the smallholders and they will treat you well. Walked to V&A Waterfront so saw a lot more than if we had UBER’ed and it was a pleasant walk. Breakfast was great and the omelette was lovely and light. Checking out at 6.30am in the morning was no problem for the staff and they encouraged us to take some yoghurt and cereal to our room the evening before to have a quick breakfast in our room, or offered to set up a table upstairs. Our room also had a fruit selection which was renewed daily. Thank you especially to Nadine, Cecelia and Jade who spent time with us to talk about various activities and were never too busy to have a chat and give advice. We can recommend this accommodation to other travellers who wish to spend time in a lovely old home with beautiful antique furniture and it was also extremely quiet - no road noise or anything else to disturb your sleep. Thank you 4 Rosmead, you provided us with the best experience to finish off our 2 week trip to Africa.

Located in a beautiful, residential area close to restaurants and shopping, the Four Rosmead Boutique Guest House is a jewel. Not too large, the house is beautifully deocorated, the rooms roomy, modern, with very comfortable beds. There is a lovely pool and garden areas for your enjoyment, or just to sit and relax after a busy day of touring. The hosts were very helpful with reservations or suggestions and had handy umbrellas when needed. It was a quiet place and after a busy day of touring, that was lovely. Breakfast was with many options and prepared individually based on your choice of several options - and it was always delicious. There was also after dinner port for your use too. All together it was just a lovely, lovely place to stay and added to our overall enjoyment of Cape Town. On a personal note, they had a bottle of wine in my room and a lovely note wishing me joy on my 75th birthday! I was totally shocked and very touched with this special touch.
If you value luxury, tranquility, and value - this is the place for you. I'd highly recommend them.

We are so happy that we stayed at the Four Rosemead Boutique hotel. We had debated about staying here or at one of the hotels at the Waterfront area. For us, that area was too busy and touristic. A great place to spend a few hours after touring Robben Island but too busy for us. The communication with Four Rosemead was terrific. All of the staff responded quickly to all of our many pre-trip questions. They even assisted in setting up an itinerary for seeing Cape Town and a wonderful private guide as well as restaurant reservations. The deluxe room was a good and lovely choice with a nice patio, very beautifully designed and decorated. The breakfast was fabulous - the best omelets! The hotel is about 5-10 minutes from everything you want to do but with a bit of piece and quiet at the end of the day. The overall decor is wonderful with great African art and a nice Port to drink when you arrive "home." Thank you so much for your warmth and kindness, Cecilia, Nadine, Jade and Patrick as well as everyone else on staff.

Small is beautiful at Four Rosemead, but the views are big. In City Bowl at the heart of Cape Town , but with the feel of a leafy suburb, this 10-room guest house is a prime example of South African style and hospitality. Our corner room had windows and balconies and two views: one framing Lion's Head, the other glimpsing the sea over the downtown high rises. The garden with sunbeds and small pool, the spacious, calm interiors, with striking art work and sumptuous beds, and above all the charm and helpfulness of management and staff combined to give us a restorative 3-night stay. Not long enough.

My wife and I started our South African Honeymoon with a beautiful stay in the fantastic Four Rosmead, Cape Town.
From the minute we arrived we felt at home. The team were fantastic and were able to help us get our bearings in this wonderful city.
They organized a day tour with a private driver and recommended some great eateries which they booked for us too.
The rooms were spacious, bright and luxurious with great views of the sea in the distance and the nearby Table Mountain viewable from one of our two balconies. Similarly, the overall property and pool area was fantastic.
Breakfast was served each morning with tea and coffee and set us up for the day. And in proper luxury guest house, checked to make sure we were ok after a missed breakfast for a lie on in bed after a long days traveling.
We left in a rental car with the staff waving us off from the gate. A real homely touch that made it feel that the staff were more family than workers. A great experience.
