Our trip through the South African Western Cape started and ended in the Black Heath Lodge. Of all of our hotel experiences this was by far the best: a warm welcome, beautiful decor, clean rooms, crisp bedding and super friendly and helpful management. Joshua, Anthony and Charle went out of their way to get us tickets for Robben Island (even... More

Blackheath lodge has the best customer service I have ever experienced. When you are there, you feel at home, and the staff know who you are and are always willing to help and to give advice. The rooms are clean and luxurious, and they offer to lend you a mobile phone (not a smart phone) for your stay, but you... More

A lovely small boutique hotel near the waterfront in Cape Town. The staff here is beyond welcoming and helpful. They had great suggestions for activities and coordinated with our hired guide through our stay. Super early breakfast? Not a problem! The room was comfortable and relaxing with amenities like a local cell phone and a tablet for use at the... More

We were looking for an up market place to stay in Cape Town for the first few days of our trip. This ticked every box. Great, friendly owners and staff, excellent rooms, really nice food and a very friendly atmosphere. They also have a couple of drivers who will take you on tours of the local area. Particularly good for... More

If you need to be smack in the center of the touristy waterfront or walking distance to the pubs of Long Street, or need a gym, this place is not for you--but for our needs and our preferences for charming over large corporate affairs, this was perfect. Small bar and lounge is open late, and theres always some free yummies... More

From the minute we arrived we felt at home. Such a warm welcome was given. We were given excellent advice on places to visit and restaurants to eat in. Taxis arranged for wherever you wanted to go. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very cosy. From someone who doesn't sleep well i slept like a baby. The location is really... More

We basically showed up and let the hotel do everything for us. They booked us a cape point tour and a stellenbosch tour, both of which were excellent. They recommended restaurants, each of which was excellent. The staff were great, the rooms were great. Everything about our experience was better than we expected even after reading the other reviews. Staff... More

You may have read a lot of the reviews of Blackheath Lodge on TripAdvisor and asked yourself the question, "is it really as good as that?". Well, the answer is yes. If you are looking for a very professionally run, quirky, friendly, boutique hotel then Blackheath Lodge is an excellent place to stay. The care and attention given by the... More

My sister and I stayed at Blackheath Lodge for 5 days in July and we wish we could have stayed longer. As soon as we got there, Godfrey greeted us with a huge smile and a much needed pot of tea while giving us the complete run down and making sure our dinner plans were accounted for that night. I...
