My boyfriend and I stayed there for 10 nights. We were really looking for a safe place to sleep and from our expectations we were satisfied with what we got. The only problem we had was the loud noise outside but because we were desperate for an affordable place to sleep we did not mind it. Otherwise, the receptionist was... More

It was probably one of the dodgiest backbackers I've been to in South Africa. The only reason I stayed was because the reception guy was pretty cool. Doors didn't lock well, communal showers weren't clean and music was playing loud from across the street.

Found this place via Google and they are quite responsive on email enquiries. I know backpackers are not the quietest place but didn't anticipate te noise level on this one. Not their fault just location, there's hectic bars close by. They supply free ear plugs. Suppose it's near bars has it's advantages, party hard and crawl to your accommodation venue.... More

the place is not clean and so noisy but this is what you get for the money. We asked them not to clean the roome as we were afraid of being stolen and one day me and my friend found that all our money was stolen and when we watched the footage we saw the cleaners entering our room and... More

We got robbed in the hostel from the cleaners; we have checked the footage and we have seen the cleaners entering our room without our permission and staying there for a while and even without their cleaning tools. No one did anything concerning that matter even the owner didn't care to show up and appreciate us. Certainly never coming here... More

Stayed here for a week, price is fair, safety as well every thing you need if you are traveling with little means. Will definitely go there next year. A few shops along the road, and if you are like me and enjoy having a nice full breakfast in the morning, there is a good place 20 meters away.

The friendly staff (special thanks to Carlvin) was very helpful in every way. The dorms were great, and location of the backpackers was just perfect. It gave a warm home-feeling instantly, thanks everyone who made my stay the best ever. I stayed two nights longer than planned...

For the price of the hostel and the location you get this really is an ideal place if you aren't planning on spending much time in your room. Admittedly the noise is very loud but if you pay for a hostel on Long Street you aren't really in a position to complain, a bit like jumping into a swimming pool... More
