Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel begins her exciting and extensive renovation in April 2022; the single-biggest project undertaken by MORE Family Collection in Cape Town to date. Scheduled to open 1 December 2022, our historic Georgian-Victorian townhouse hotel will undergo an extensive upgrade delivering an Art Deco-inspired interior and enhanced guest experience, including a new destination spa and a full-service bistro restaurant and bar. The new Cape Cadogan will also offer 10 elegant guest rooms and a three-bedroom private residence, as well as a gymnasium and meeting rooms for guests with business requirements. Please note that due to the Cape Cadogan closure, we have redirected our SA Package option to MORE Quarters for 2022. As of 2023, you will be able to choose between the properties. Offering a rare combination of historic exteriors with classic modern bohemian interiors, Cape Cadogan was ‘Victorianised’ in 1912 and declared a National Monument in 1984. Its charm and character is matched with its desirable location amongst the popular restaurants, street cafes and stylish boutique shops of Kloof Street, the heart of Cape Town.

The room was really quirky and cool. There was a bit of noise outside on the street but it didn’t bother us. Fantastic location and they offered free transfers around the city on Uber. We had a lovely friendly welcome especially from Yannic and the breakfast was tasty.

Cape Cadogan was a great place to stay for my first trip to Cape Town. The location was in a safe area and had multiple restaurants and shops close by. The hotel itself was beautiful and reminded me of nice country house. The staff were extremely helpful and met all of my needs. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Cute, small hotel. Very friendly staff who knew us by name. Turn down service. Laundry services. Near good restaurants. Lions head and Tabletop mountain quick Uber away.

We had a great stay at this very nice boutique hotel. The staff were consistently friendly helpful and efficient. The breakfast was superior. The food quality was really good and the servers were so kind and friendly. Overall the location is good with lots of hotels within walking distance along Kloof Street. The staff was also very helpful in providing really good recommendations. The staff also arranges for Uber rides within the area as you need them. This is an older urban infill property so has some quirkiness which added to its charm.

Everything about this hotel was 5 star. From the minute you are greeted at the front door you feel as though your hotel stay is going to be special. And they NEVER disappoint ! My wife and I stayed 5 nights in room 14 which was large, beautifully kept and cared for, filled with morning light and a view of the mountains. It was an absolutely marvelous way to start each day. Breakfast in the garden was relaxing and very tasty. The service by the breakfast dining team was attentive and always presented with a smile and a caring attitude. The hotel provides complementary car service so you always feel safe regardless of how well you know the city. The location makes it very convenient to all of the city adventures as well as trips to the countryside and wine country. The front of house team were extremely helpful in obtaining reservations for restaurants and winery visits. We look forward to heading back next year to continue to explore this beautiful city and country.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, we absolutely loved it! Very spacious, quiet, and comfortable! Within walking distance to so many great restaurants and bars. The staff are very attentive and helpful. We came during Covid, and they helped us arrange an onsite covid test. Can't wait to come back!

Cape Cadogan is a beautifully presented hotel that’s perfect for both relaxing at, and using as a base to explore Cape Town via cheap & frequent Ubers. It is a short walk from many great bars, restaurants & other amenities on Kloof Street, and offers a lovely continental breakfast with optional cooked choices, but the real differentiator here is the staff. Every person we encountered throughout our stay were so friendly and attentive, and they all made us feel right at home, which we were so thankful for. We had personalised notes left in our room on a daily basis (welcoming us, congratulating us on our recent wedding, and upcoming weather forecasts), and those little details really added to the overall experience of staying it an already amazing hotel.

Very average stay. Multiple issues and disappointing given the cost of the stay. Very much a case of form over function. Beautiful venue but that is about where it stopped. Service at the level of a 2 or 3 star hotel. Breakfast venue was good but food was about average. Service was disappointing.

Response from MORE Family Collection Lodges and Hotels, General Manager at Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel
Responded Jan 19, 2022
Dear 'Jean d' It's always deeply disappointing when we don't hit the mark, and I am afraid that this was one of those occasions. I am so terribly sorry that you had a sub-standard experience with us - we do our best to always deliver an exceptional guest experience, and although we largely exceed our visitors' expectations, there are (unfortunately) those days when we don't quite get it quite right. I can assure you that this is a very rare exception. Following our communications, I am deeply gratified that you have agreed to return to give us the opportunity to correct your impression of our beautiful Lady in the City. I will personally ensure that no stone is left unturned in our pledge to serve you exceptionally. Sincerely, Alan Rose General Manager, Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at Cape Cadogan. They were very welcoming, helpful and the room/hotel was gorgeous. The area is a great base for exploring Cape Town, with some mega restaurants right on your door stop. The complimentary ubers nearby were a great help too. Breakfast was good. We recommend highly! Thanks
