I recently stayed at An African Villa for the second time. The villa is tucked away on a quiet street that gives it a very tranquil vibe. The staff is extremely helpful and give great recommendations for activities and restaurants. Will defiantly stay here again when I return to Cape Town.

Once again we started our holiday in South Africa by staying at the magnificent African Villa in Cape Town. We keep returning to this Guest House has it is so hospitable, friendly and of high quality. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the staff are so friendly. We have never been let down. It was by husband's and son's birthday... More

The room was spotless and very well appointed--safe, coffee and tea and a very comfortable bed. The staff is 100% customer oriented and give maximum support all day long. Each question we asked was answered quickly and accurately. The breakfast is absolutely world class. I can not praise this wonderful facility highly enough!

Keith and Cindy could not have been more welcoming and helpful. They made dinner reservations for us each night at places we would never have known about. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast each morning was a feast of cereal, fruit, yogurt and cooked. Very well situated just a ten minute walk from a Hop... More

We stayed here several years ago, sometimes to return can be a bad choice.......not here! As It is well positioned, stylish and seamlessly run accommodation, where the owners are quietly happy to share their wealth of knowledge and experience....seemed to be better than we remembered

The first stop on our holiday and one we remembered with fond memories. We spent 3 nights in African Villa and would happily return. We had a very warm welcome from Louis who was so helpful from start to finish - especially with his weather forecast. That proved spot on and we were able to visit table mountain as the... More

This place is the best. Very quit and safe neighborhood at a good location. The hotel is very nicely decorated down to the smallest detail. Our superior double room really had everything: nice and spacious room, large balcony and very good beds. The hosts are very courteous and helpful in planning your Cape Town trips. Another place we left reluctantly.

Had a wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, I especially liked the mushrooms. I would recommend staying here.Being not from South Africa, it was very helpful that they helped arrange some of our plans for us.

At this guesthouse, the place and the people are an experience of their own. All hosts from owners to staff are not only nice and helpful, but they do go the extra mile to help and advice for a better stay in Cape Town. The common rooms and the bedrooms are very luxurious and comfortable, spacious and with all modern... More

I don't have one bad thing to say about this beautiful cosy and welcoming guest house. The guest house is in a great location in a hip neighborhood and the owners make you feel right at home. They are able to snag hard to get reservations for you and book tours with very competent guides. A lovely breakfast is served... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Villa is much more than that! It is in fact three houses which are part of a Victorian terrace dating from 1892. The double story houses have been joined together and so the inside spaces are much larger than the facade suggests. It's like walking into a TARDIS someone has written on Tripadvisor! There are 12 rooms and the hotel is owner managed.Location is vital when choosing a spot for you vacation and this more than a Villa is within an easy walk of all tourist attractions in the city area. The others (like the fabulous beaches) are a short taxi ride away. There is a small plunge pool in a peaceful courtyard where a very full breakfast is served in summer. (In winter there's a sociable dining room and an eco-friendly fire blazing). Your hosts are very careful to offer you as much information as you want and they will arrange car rental, restaurant reservations, tours etc. As required.Free internet on 2 computers in a library area and wireless access is available in all rooms. At night the night porter will set out complimentary sherry and port and at other times there is an honesty bar and guest fridge in the kitchen. Parking is on street and there is no charge (street guards patrol) but you should not need a car from this well placed hotel. ... more   less
