We stayed here for several nights. The hotel is boutique (more like a guesthouse), clean and in a quiet area. It is well run, with a good cooked breakfast. The rooms are basic with en- suite bathrooms and limited toiletries. It was quite cold as the room heating was a bit haphazard. The big advantage is that the staff provide... More

I absolutely loved this place. It felt like staying with a well off friend. The breakfast was fresh made to order, the staff was so courteous, and the owners were there every morning to help plan your day. My wife and I are young and they knew just the spots we should go to. They even set us up with... More

Once again I've returned to An African Villa and never disappointed. Treated my parents to a surprise 50th wedding anniversary. The team are fantastic!!! and so attentive, customer service at its best. The guest house is pure luxury and beautifully decorated. It has not lost its exquisite charm since my last visit. The rooms are beautiful. You will not be... More

This was the greatest stay of the year so far; the wife was able to totally relax and get some much needed R and R!! Keith was a brilliant member of staff who looked after us all through the stay - no request was too extreme and he always had a fun joke for us in the morning to start... More

An African Villa is a lovely boutique hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood. Keith greeted us warmly and was always available to answer questions and provide advice as needed. Linda similarly always had a smile and greeting for us in the morning. Our room was quiet and quite comfortable. The entire hotel is furnished in a modern African style and... More

Boutique hotel with comfortable feel. Tastefully decorated to the teeth with African theme. The house feels special because it is a beautifully maintained but old structure. The owner and the staff could not be more helpful or welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.

After finishing a 21 day camping tour of southern Africa that finished in Cape Town we wanted a quiet place to stay with a touch of luxury. An African Villa lived up to the information provided on the website. We had a perfect stay for 4 nights. Our welcome was exceptional - a short tour of the facilities and explanation... More

Excellent! Beautiful decoration, very clean & comfortable these 3 assembled Victorian houses with courteous staff, full cooked breakfast served so kindly by all the female cooks, it was a lovely stay with sight on the Table Mountain. Plenty of nice small restaurants at walking distance, we were thrilled staying here for 4 nights!

Perfect location in a beautiful SAFE and very quiet neighborhood, close to everything. Room was spacious, clean and the bed was very very comfortable. Delecious breakfast: Both warm made-to-order and a rich buffet. Very helpful and informative staff, 24hr reception. Same day laundry service (useful 'by the bag' fee of 160zar) Courtesy Port wine in the beautiful and very welcoming... More

We had 3 great nights at An African Villa. The guest house is centrally located, very clean, beautifully decorated, with a friendly staff. Our room was perfect and had a great view of Table Mountain. The staff helped us call taxis and book reservations for dinner, and the breakfast every morning was incredible. Definitely a great place to stay in... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Villa is much more than that! It is in fact three houses which are part of a Victorian terrace dating from 1892. The double story houses have been joined together and so the inside spaces are much larger than the facade suggests. It's like walking into a TARDIS someone has written on Tripadvisor! There are 12 rooms and the hotel is owner managed.Location is vital when choosing a spot for you vacation and this more than a Villa is within an easy walk of all tourist attractions in the city area. The others (like the fabulous beaches) are a short taxi ride away. There is a small plunge pool in a peaceful courtyard where a very full breakfast is served in summer. (In winter there's a sociable dining room and an eco-friendly fire blazing). Your hosts are very careful to offer you as much information as you want and they will arrange car rental, restaurant reservations, tours etc. As required.Free internet on 2 computers in a library area and wireless access is available in all rooms. At night the night porter will set out complimentary sherry and port and at other times there is an honesty bar and guest fridge in the kitchen. Parking is on street and there is no charge (street guards patrol) but you should not need a car from this well placed hotel. ... more   less
