I stayed a single night at the Commodore and I enjoyed a very comfy bed and a great breakfast and the hotel is a mere 3 minutes walk from everything downtown Cape Town. Even had time for an hour in the sun on a soft sunbed next to the pool. I will certainly stat there again!

Money Stolen! Item missing! Shameful and Horrendous Experience!  I checked into the Commodore Hotel, on the afternoon of Tuesday, 9th April 2019 to stay for six nights, Room 6015. I was attending a conference so I was out all evening to the welcome party, and was out all

Short stay of two nights in room 1003, overlooking road. Clean and functional hotel that meets basic requirements. I would use again for business, but probably go a little more luxurious for holiday. There is a bar courtyard with pool and internal bar area.

The hotel does not have an ATM but there is one at the Aquarium which is close to the hotel (at the Waterfront). Also, I'm sure there are lots of other ATM's at the Waterfront. It is very tourist friendly. There is also a currency exchange place in one of the shopping malls there. The hotel has a travel desk that arranged our airport shuttle with a shuttle company. It was $10 each way per person. I emailed the hotel to get help with the shuttle and they helped me get it reserved. To get around, we used the City Sightseeing Tour Bus which has a ticket office and pick-up point at the Aquarium. Check out their website. They go everywhere on the hop-on/hop-off buses (mountain cable car, botanical gardens, even to Cape of Good Hope and the Boulders Beach (penguins) for a day tour which I highly recommend). Also, their sunset tour is a beautiful evening trip.

Are there irons in the rooms?
We did not have an iron in our rooms (we had 5 rooms between our group), but do believe you could request one from the front desk

Do the rooms have irons provided?
Hi sorry I cannot recall and I did not need it so did not look for one, sorry. However, i am certain if you needed one, they would oblige. Ask via the web site.

Is room service breakfast available?
Room service is available, however the buffet breakfast is excellent. The spread and the service is excellent. If you are going for a day tour, breakfast at the Commodore hotel is a great way to start off the day!!! Kevin

with the water shortage, can you still swim?
As far as I know. When I was in Cape Town, the water shortage was over.
