An excellent hotel, the service is great, the location is excellent, 5 minutes walk to the V&A. Enjoyed the breakfast, and the bar has real ambience. Our last night today, thank you for the Fizz on our arrival and special thank you to Marelyn for looking after us so well by the pool. Look forward to coming back!

We stayed for 7 nights (well 6 nights thanks to British Airways messing up our flight) in October 2016 to celebrate our Ruby Wedding anniversary. The hotel couldn't have done more to make this a special occasion for us. In fact, it is the staff that make this hotel so welcoming. Our room was spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable with... More

I travel a lot overseas to different places on business like China, India, Bangladesh, Turkey etc. Hotels are generally pretty great and you know if you find a good one you want to tell others on here so that they feel reassured etc. but you never get time and next thing you know you are on to the next place.... This hotel was just right for me. 1) it's location near the Waterfront was perfect 2)it's very well kept and clean 3)the reception staff are welcoming and pleasant to deal with. 4) it has a clean swimming pool 5) indeed the breakfast spread is to die for 6) the bed was comfortable, a must for a weary traveller 7)have to... This is our sixth time staying at the Commodore and we travel all the way from Canada! The guest relations man, Muneeb, has been there forever and we think so highly of him. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from the V & A Waterfront where it is very safe to be at all hours of day or night.... More

Stayed 3 nights in connection with an international symposium in Cape Town. This is a lovely place with nice comfortable rooms and very polite and courteous staff. It is a few minutes walk from the V&A Waterfront which to me is the place where the heart of this superb city beats. The food at the hotel is brilliant. The buffet... More

Just returned from South Africa and started the trip with 3 nights in the Commodore. Location is excellent, just a minutes stroll to the waterfront. The hotel is very professionally run. Room was spacious and cleanliness was first rate. Public areas are quite traditionally styled with a nautical theme and are also spacious and pleasant. Staff are well trained and... More

We stayed for five nights in a twin bedded room on the third floor facing the inner courtyard. Good quality refurbished room with pretty good WiFi. The room was quiet apart from the usual late night guests in the bar outdoor area loudly sharing their jokes and stories with everyone within earshot! Breakfast was excellent, I'm not sure what the... More

Nice big room, all usual facilities for a four star hotel. Fantastic breakfast, friendly and efficient staff and less than a five minute stroll to the waterfront. All for approx £100 a night inc breakfast for two. With a view of Table Mountain from the room thrown in we couldn't ask for more in Cape Town.

Comfortable clean room on the third floor. Quiet hotel, elevator service and the room had a balcony. We stayed 4 nights. Friendly staff will assist with any special requests. I had pre-arranged flowers for the two rooms rented, we also asked for accessories to borrow for a picnic in the vineyard country side. Management was most accommodating. Breakfast in a... More
