The Inn on The Square is my favorite hotel in Cape Town. It overlooks the craft market and just around the corner from Long Street, the main hub of the center of the city.. It is close to many wonderful restaurants and shopping. The staff is really great. Applause to Darren, Fungai, and Patrick at the front desk and to Salie, one of the porters. I feel very badly for them during the pandemic crisis, with little or no work. I hope the Onomo Hotels have a established a fund for them. If so, please write back how guests may contribute to it.
Stayed here for 3 nights at start of organised tour of South Africa. Good location in Cape Town. Very comfortable hotel, great breakfast. Nice room but tiny bathroom!! Friendly staff - my husband had a massage which he enjoyed, although was in a lot of pain afterwards 😂😂.
Beautiful, clean, fresh and friendly, helpful staff. Sallie was the best person to deal with, he's friendly, helpful, energetic, always has a smile on his face, he's definitely an asset to the hotel. :)
Excellent, lovely and pleasant environment with great hospitality to be in hotel onomo even if it was in the last minute we arrived there, welcoming with sweet smile and helpful nature of Darren, and patrick. 😊 welcome to Nepal, missed that we wanted to get pictures with Darren smith and patrick for memories👍 all the best and keep shining😊👍ONOMO HOTEL IS THE BEST IN CAPE TOWN, GO FOR IT👍👍
This was a last minute booking and I couldn't have been happier with the service. Lovely hotel, very clean and modern rooms and amenities, under cover parking and great, friendly service. A special mention to Patrick and Darren who went out of their ways to make our stay comfortable. Food was awesome.. a very nice and homely environment.. I highly recommend it to Capetown visitors..
As mentioned by a lot of other reviewers, the hotel is right on the Green Market Square. This will either be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your point of view, requirements and expectations. The square is currently (at time of writing) still being occupied by a group of protesters/refugees. I am not going to go into the details of their situation as I don't know enough about it. However, they did not cause us any issues when we stayed at the Onomo. Our room was on the third floor directly overlooking the square, and we were not only able to witness the daily activity of the protestors, but the market being put up and taken down every day should we wished to have done so. The double glazing of the hotel was very efficient and meant we did not hear a thing, particularly when the aircon was on in our room. Breakfast was more than adequate, the room functional and clean. The only observation I would have is the size of the bathroom is very small.. and not designed that well with the bathroom and shower doors, both occupying the same space when being opened. All of the staff, without exception were polite, helpful and efficient. The hotel is literally less than a five minute walk from the red bus hop on/hop off tour office which is a perfect way to get to know your way around the city. Apparently the hotel was designed to look identical to the Shell offices in London, and was once their HQ in Africa. It's not a 5* hotel, some parts need "freshening up" (just cosmetic really, paintwork etc) the location is very central and has easy access to all the main tourist attractions, the food was good, and staff exceptional. It's also handy for the free walking tours that start in Green Market Square, on the corner diagonally opposite the reception door of the hotel.…
I contacted the hotel before my parents were due to visit for their anniversary and asked if they could arrange some treats for my parent's room: Champagne, chocolates etc. Princess, the Reservations Supervisor, was incredibly helpful and arranged this at a very reasonable price. I was thrilled with the result and how easy the process was. Thank you!
Well located hotel, friendly staff Edward the porter, Victor and David in the bar. Easy check-in rooms clean as is shower shower room. Good breakfast. Unfortunate about the refugees in the church next door but that didn’t detract from a great stay in a lovely hotel. Thank you all.
We had a warm welcome from Patrick and a few others upon arrival at the hotel. Everyone was really helpful when my wife encountered with a medical emergency and needed help. Patrick went out of his way to contact the hospital and checked in on us everyday. Really appreciate the kind gesture and we will totally recommend this hotel!
The 6 course Valentine dinner was delicious and most enjoyable. I love the white on white decor in the dining area. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful.
