Parker Cottage is a gorgeous restored cottage in the suburbs of Capetown. It is within walking distance to great cafes, museums and the central city. We stayed 4 nights here. The hosts were very welcoming and can arrange tours, cars, tickets, restaurant bookings for you. Our day trip around the coastline was great! Parker Cottage offers breakfast only and it... More

We recently stayed 3 nights at Parker Cottage. Tomas greeted the 4 of us with tea & coffee and loads of tourist information and restaurant recommendations. We had been communicating with Phil prior to our visit to arrange tours of the Peninsula as well as a tour in Johannesburg! He could not have been more helpful. He set us up... More

This guesthouse is well located to Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront. Phil is brilliantly eccentric and has lots of information on Cape Town to pass on. He has plenty of ideas of where you can go and what you can do whether rain or shine. Also helped with Restaurant recommendations and a South African SIM card to allow us... More

My husband and I stayed here for a week for our second wedding anniversary and it is, without exaggeration, one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. The hotel is beautifully furnished, and it is luxurious and stylish without being remotely stuffy or formal. In fact, you'd struggle to find a friendlier, more relaxed hotel. Phil has encyclopedic knowledge of... More

The folks at Parker Cottage provided lots of information including personally designed tours and great restaurants to enjoy in Capetown, happily helped us make reservations for further travel and introduced us to a driver who added even more to our enjoyment and relaxation. Our room at Parker Cottage was absolutely elegant with all possible amenities. A delicious breakfast menu, with great... More

My husband and I stayed here frequently while we lived in South Africa in 2014 and 2015. We traveled often for work and pleasure within South Africa and Parker Cottage was by far our favorite guest house. Phil, Tomas and the rest of the staff were always so friendly, accommodating, thoughtful and personable. On our many return visits, they often... More

Havn't stayed here in a while as the last 4 times Ive visited Cape Town it's been fully booked well in advance - that's how good it is! Still the same friendly staff and fantastic breakfasts - nothing to complain about here. Well worth a stay if you can get a reservation!

We booked into Parker Cottage which has a colonial decor and the owner Phill very helpful and assists with orientation of Cape Town where to go etc . The restaurant Nelsons Eye best steak I have... Thanks very much for honouring us with a visit for your wife's birthday, Gareth! It was fun singing to you. If we'd had a bit more notice we could have had the bubbly out and a cake. The rate you paid was actually R1 680, not R1 800, and that was for our Beautiful (mid range) rooms. Cape Town B&Bs... More

We had the pleasure of staying 4 nights at Parker Cottage this month and this has to rank as one of our favorite B & B's anywhere in the world. Our 'fantastic' Von Veh room was just that and more. Spotlessly clean, quiet and extremely comfortable, great bed and all the space and beautiful design and charm one could ask... More

Returning to Parker Cottage after a couple of years was all that we would have expected. The welcome was genuine, the room full of charm and comfortable, and the breakfasts are amazing. All the staff went out of their way to help - even finding a way for us to get to the Test Match when no taxis were available.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Parker Cottage! We’re a little different than the usual hotel or guesthouse experience. Rather than being just a conventional ‘place to sleep’, we offer a very much unplugged, urban retreat right in the creative heart of Cape Town. So although we offer free and fast internet, we don't do minibars, piped music or even reception desks. Think of us like a country house in the middle of the city. We’re the kind of place where you can rediscover the art of conversation, endless breakfasts and total serenity. Parker is a social place too: our legendary free wine evenings occur at least twice a week and there’s no ‘cut off’ time for our gourmet breakfasts either. ... more   less
