Luxury hotel. Beautiful room with 2 beds and full bathroom. Fridge with water. Tea and Coffee making also supplied. Quiet. Restaurant on site with the largest breakfast buffet I have ever seen. Literally a room just for fruit juices. Bar on site. It's a huge hotel and connected to a mall. There is a pool, gym, and spa.
My wife and I just stayed at the Table Bay Hotel for 5 nights, on the back end of several weeks’ safari in Zimbabwe. This is our second such visit in the past few years. We have loved the Table Bay to get “ re-acclimated “ before returning to America. This hotel is on the V&A Waterfront, accessible by walking to everything. The Table Bay offers an expansive buffet breakfast each day, and it’s great to start your day off so well. The breakfast staff do a great job managing a pretty significant operation. Of particular mention would be Sahqueenah(?) who is charming and who has the brightest smile. My only suggestion, respectfully, might be to add another coffee station so that refills come a bit quicker. This hotel has a lot of American college tour folks and so I think at times it’s difficult for the staff to keep up. Otherwise the breakfast is outstanding. Lots of fresh fruit, omelets, full western and English items, in addition to middle eastern and some Indian features. Well thought out. In this visit we heavily relied upon the concierge staff, which is Dane Goldschmidt and his staff. They were all SUPERB. Clement Fortune and Chelsea arranged for several day trips and Dane and Clement personally were able to score reservations in the top restaurant(s) in Capetown. In our experience the Table Bay is is perfect unwind and we could not have been treated any better. I highly recommend!…
The Table Bay Hotel could not have been a better place for us to start our journey in South Africa. We stayed here for three nights, not only to get acclimated to our new time zone, but to have a centralized location to begin the two excursions we had planned during our stay. It is in a perfect location next to the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre with the view of the ocean on one side and the waterfront area on the other. It was so convenient to have an entire shopping mall, a wharf area buzzing with activities, local shops and cuisine and some of the finest restaurants in the city just outside our hotel. The staff was warm and welcoming even before we arrived at the hotel. Mogmat Abraham, from the concierge desk, was outstanding helping us select restaurants to eat at during our stay via email months before we arrived. Mogmat and the rest of the concierge desk were even more friendly and helpful in person. The check-in staff did a great job accommodating us by getting us into our room a couple of hours early after our 35 hour trip from the states. The room was comfortable, and the bed and pillows were outstanding. And what can you say about the most spectacular breakfast buffet my wife and I have ever seen in 40 years of travel. The staff in the dining room was exceptional, especially our wonderful omelet maker. Table Bay was the perfect launching site for our trip, and we highly recommend it if you need a place to stay in Cape Town, this is the hotel. …
Can't recommend this hotel enough for your Cape Town base. Rooms are very homely, well decorated and clean. Breakfast is delicious, there is usually a 5 minute wait but the line goes quickly. Very handy location close to great restaurants and attached to the mall so all shopping needs are catered for. The staff were also fantastic making our stay extra special!
Everything about our stay here was exceptional. The decor, the service, the location AND the views are outstanding. Due to its great location you can view the ocean or the incredible Table Mountain. We stayed here for 4 nights on our first visit to Cape Town. Will certainly recommend to others. This was definitely a 5* experience.
Not cheap but this hotel is first rate. Immaculately clean and modern, spacious rooms with either sea or Table Mountain view, great location on the Waterfront (we were concerned about stories of crime on the streets of Cape Town but it seems to be very safe indeed here, with lots of security officers around) and very efficient, professional staff. (Quick word here for Clement and Chelsea on the concierge desk, who are so helpful and friendly.) Lovely pool area and, although I can’t comment on lunch and dinner in the restaurant, I must say that in all my years of travel all over the world, I have never seen a better, more extensive breakfast buffet. If you can afford to spend the extra few $, this is the place to stay.
We stayed at The Table Bay for the first 5 nights of our honeymoon in SA. The service was impeccable and we highly recommend staying here. The location is unbeatable on the waterfront and we felt very safe. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning. As we were celebrating our honeymoon, when we checked in we had a lovely bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room and rose peddles on the bed. We loved it!!! Thank you! We would 100% stay here again on our next visit.
Huge hotel, staff friendly and helpful.Nice lounge and bar. The other positive thing was the fantastic choice for breakfast, the first two days we were down super early for breakfast for trips the other mornings we had to wait 30 minutes to get in for breakfast.
The hotel staff were friendly and the location is great. But the a number of things in the hotel are looking old and tired and in definite need of an upgrade. I wouldn't say this is worthy of a 5 star rating anymore. We had a workshop there and whilst they provided the same food on a rotational basis - did they not have other ideas??? The food was also nothing to phone home about - it wasn't bad but it also wasn't five star. The price you pay for you get just isn't worth it. There are other places at a better cost.
My friend and I had only two days at this lovely hotel. The weather was not in our favor but we still got a view of Table Mountain and Victoria Bay. It's a short walk to the beach and the hotel is conveniently attached to a high-end mall, filled with restaurants, making it very easy to walk to dinner or shopping. The concierge desk was extraordinary as was the breakfast buffet, fit for a king. Would highly recommend.
