I consider this hotel to be my Cape Town home, and love every aspect of staying here. From the friendliness of the staff, to the comfort of the room, there is nothing not to like and I keep returning. Being winter I could not make full use of the garden as I usually do, but i was able to have a swim in the heated pool which was very comfortable and enjoyable. I was also delighted they have bought back, under the new hotel director, the Sunday Brunch. This was always popular and as always the food, service, music and ambience were all first class. I like the small touches in the room, from a "Pink Gin" to the bottle of water provided each evening at turndown. I appreciate also the fast internet which can also be sued on multiple devices. Also included in the room is a welcome back with a useful guide to the hotel and a small book on the hotel's tress and plants. What's not to like? In all honesty nothing at all and I can recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious stay in a hotel full of elegance and charm.…
What an amazing Hotel in the heart of Cape Town. The Staff are amazing and go over and above to make you feel at home. Breakfast was brilliant & afternoon tea lived up to the reputation. The Gym & Spa was also top notch.
A beautiful gem in the city with excellent service , attention to detail and comfort you’d expect from Belmond. Staff took time to check in and make each guest feel acknowledged. Service was excellent and staff were friendly and attentive. Gardens are immaculate and dining was beautiful.
What a wonderful stay. From check in to departure, the time was filled with delightful memories of outstanding guest interactions, good food and wine and a memorable location. We couldn’t fault anything about our stay.
Two days and two nights here and I only wish I could have stayed longer. Comfortable room and bed with a great shower. Room is well stocked and bottled water is replenished twice daily. Restaurant staff, housekeeping and valet are all great providing efficient service with a smile. Concierge was helpful when needed and nobody ever gives the impression of being put out by your needs. Lovely gardens, opulent lobby, comfortable bar and breakfast at the Oasis Bistro is not to be missed! A jewel of a hotel in Cape Town.
Out first long haul as a family, and a friendly, spectacular, and cosy place to start. This is a special place. I’ll first include key words that will help other families :-). Kids! Child! Children! Family! Done! We normally plan years in advance for a long haul, and with friends granular detail. But that was before kids. And before covid. Our first long haul in 10 years, and our first with kids (6 and 8 years old) brought us here, with little planning… Absolutely, spectacularly, impressively, amazing. Everyone super friendly, everything super nice. If you are wavering or tempted, book. :-)
It was fantastic high tea at Belmont mount Nelson hotel. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. Will definitely go back. Even the hotel room was very clean and nice. Enjoyed our stay there. Staff are very knowledgeable in the history of the hotel too. Loved it.
What a wonderful experience. The hotel is over 100 years old and in fabulous condition. The suite we stayed in was lovely as was the food. Make sure and try the high tea. Gardens are amazing and should be experienced. Top of the list is the phenomenal service. A special thank you to Lorenzo. The best concierge ever. Mt Nelson Hotel in Cape Town is a must to experience. Oh yes, the hotel black kitty was the cherry on top!
This feels like country clubs or luxe hotels from when I was growing up and I loved that. Tradition vs. attempting to be to modern works for me. The feeling is more like "old" money than new money. It was all very relaxing.
The Mount Nelson Hotel housed a 65'th Birthday party in celebration of our Aunt. The party was held in the Planet room and conservatory, and oh boy it was absolutely breathtaking to say the least! Our function was a high tea and the different types of teas on offer proved tantalizing to our taste buds. The staff were friendly and amazing. Not only did they display a deep knowledge of each of the teas and snacks on offer, but went above and beyond to cater to each of our guests needs and requests. In particular, Jeremy gave us an in depth explanation of the Hotel's history and his warm disposition made us feel right at home and very welcome. Archie too was a great host to our party and explained everything with much passion and zest. We were thoroughly satisfied by the warm welcome and friendly service received. highly recommended.…
