My family and I had the best time here at mount Nelson. It was our first time in Capetown and the concierge, Monique, booked us on the best tour ever of the peninsula and Stellenbosch, and Muchi, assisted with absolutely anything we needed. Every single staff member was so special, helpful, kind, and truly cared about us and our experience there. From every maintenance person (Andrew was so nice!) to housekeeping to every single person there, it was overall a 10/10 experience. The room we stayed in was stunning and so comfortable. There was every amenity you needed to be comfortable and the staff ensure that as well. Overall, Belmond Mount Nelson is the epitome of luxury and anyone who stays there is very lucky. Belmond really did it right here!! My family and I can’t wait to come back just to be with the staff and stay at your beautiful hotel.…
Mount Nelson didnt not disappoint. From being greeted on arrival, to breakfast each morning, to the service when something entirely outside of their establishment/control happens. If you're going to Cape Town, stay here!
I was fortunate to be invited to high tea on Mother's day. From the minute we walked in, we were treated like VIPs. With a glass of bubbly in hand we were shown to our table. Chris arrived to take us through the tea menu: 42 teas from around the world. He asked our preferences and gave excellent recommendations. Our server for the day was Thuli. She was absolutely amazing. Brought each of the 3 courses to the table, explained all the chef's beautiful creations (1st course is savory, 2nd course was scones, a tea loaf and pumpkin fritters, 3rd course was sweet). Thuli's attention to detail was outstanding. She was friendly and made us feel like we were the only guests at the hotel that day! The food and drinks were incredible - bottomless teas, coffee, cappuccino, even hot chocolate. Everyone received a small gift before leaving. I had a great time, and hope to see you again soon. Blessings to you all.…
We could not have had a better experience in Cape Town. The Hotel and rooms are beautiful. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. The included buffet / special order breakfast was beyond expectation . The Charcuterie board (ordered before arriving) and wake up calls with coffee delivered to your door are special touches. The concierges and hotel management were especially helpful in an extended stay because of a positive Covid test, 5 Stars all the way.
Gorgeous Sunday spent at the Lounge, on the terrace. Namhla was the most attentive, well-engaged and efficient sever that I have had in Cape Town in a very long time. Beautiful conversation, delicious food and impeccable service with a smile. A true Cape Classic and Iconic is experience!
Absolutely magical stay. It was romantic and lovely and we had the chance to walk around Cape Town and do some guided tours. The staff were extremely friendly and the service was top-notch. Highly recommended! We will definitely be back for another stay in the near term and look forward to seeing our family at Mount Nelson.
Came here for a Sunday afternoon lunch, cigar and drinks. Lovely property, amazing facilities and reasonable food. Problem with the Planet Bar was the service was slow, which I generally found across South Africa. If the service could become more attentive, this would be 5/5.
What an awesome experience! We were treated like the queens we are. The tea was amazing. The selection was fantastic and the service was on point. We loved our gift . Change nothing. The venue, the food the staff , nothing could be faulted. We will be back Thank you
This is an amazing hotel. With classic features and real resort facilities but located in central Cape Town. The staff make this place what it is. Some of the most genuine service I have ever had. Special mention to Zane in the bar who was a true professional with great advice and personal service - he genuinely cares about his guests. Beautiful rooms which were well maintained by excellent housekeeping team.
Again we went to the Jazz Brunch at the Mount Nelson. What a treat in a spectacular setting: Fantastic buffet with a wide variety starting with the fish dishes (Oysters, baked & smoked salmon, tuna, herrings… then onto sushi, parma and salads….then hot dishes and carvery. If that’s not enough the desert buffet including waffles, pancakes…. All in a glorious setting on the terrace overlooking the pool. Subtle jazz band. Really looked after by our wonderful waiter Thabang, Sizwe at the carvery and the ever attentive and accommodating manager Chris. Cape Town’s finest!!
