If you are looking for a an excellent base in Cape Town, Cape Grace is the place!! We had 3 terrific nights at this elegant (but not stuffy!) hotel. Our room was a Table Mountain View suite with a terrace and was very comfortable, we slept great! The view is excellent, except for one full day the mountain was shrouded in clouds but you also had a view over the the marina. We found the entire staff to be incredibly helpful, and FRIENDLY, especially when one of our prearranged sight seeing excursions got messed up, they stepped in to try and sort it out. I am not sure who the grand poo-bah is, but Sheba seems to set the tone of excellence that permeates through the whole place. Cape Grace is situated in an excellent location in walking distance to harbor.

I was lucky enough to spend a week here with my husband; he was in Cape Town for work (medical research) and I tagged along. This hotel was an ABSOLUTE dream! First off, the staff was phenomenal - they went above and beyond at **every** step. Every interaction we had with them - and my husband was there for 11 nights total - was complete perfection; they were the consummate professionals. Our room was kept neat as a pin, refreshed twice a day, and well appointed with everything we could need. The breakfast was a joy; we especially loved all of the varieties of fresh cut, perfectly ripe fruit. The concierges helped my husband with his bike multiple times, as he completed the Cape Town Cycle Tour during our visit - in fact, when we realized our uber could not fit the bike on our way to the airport, they magically had a larger vehicle in mere minutes. Simply amazing! The bed and pillows were heavenly; we mostly slept with the big window open and the breeze coming in off the water but the one night we needed air conditioning, it worked like a charm - which is rare for European hotels, in my experience. The location cannot be beat either - walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping, be SURE to get breakfast at the Farmer's Market on the weekends (also walkable) - amazing food there! We cannot say enough about our stay at Cape Grace, and we are so very thankful for the staff for everything they did for us, and for making us feel welcome.

The Cape Grace Hotel is in the top 25 hotels of the world. In addition to Cape Grace being a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, they are highly recognized by award after award. The entire team, from the checking in, to housekeeping, dinning and spa, were exceptional. They provided world class information, when you need it. The location of the hotel is gorgeous and quiet. While we were there, we hosted a leadership luncheon. I highly recommend leaders, who are looking for a world class experience, to make plans to stay and host leaders at the Cape Grace Hotel.

This is a well appointed hotel in the heart of the V&A in Cape Town. Good sized rooms well presented. The staff are wonderful so helpful and friendly. Our room overlooked the marina. There is a good breakfast with plenty of choice. The hotel has a small pool and sunbeds for guests.

We stayed at the Cape Grace for 5 nights on vacation in a rooftop terrace room. Location is excellent being situated in the waterfront but on its own part of the marina so it’s perfectly in the middle of the action whilst being quiet and peaceful. The area is safe, full of shops and restaurants. The room type was brilliant. The terrace was the star of the stay - wonderful place to sit and watch the mountain, the boats or the sea lions. We were out there everyday. The only area for improvement is the decor - aims for a ‘heritage’ style but creeps into old fashioned. But it’s done with excellent quality. The bed was huge and comfortable. Breakfast is superb - always a warm and professional welcome, remembering your room and name after a couple of days which is difficult given the size of the hotel but they do it. Great selection of continental and cooked. Great service. The pool area is actually better to sit in than it looks. I wasn’t keen on the photos but it works well - Cape Town can be windy and it’s well sheltered. The beds are comfortable, the pool itself is the perfect temperature. One area they need to improve is service by the pool as it was highly variable. One day you have staff there all the time, water infused with cucumber or strawberries and easy to order drinks. The next you’re having to wander into the restaurant with your towel asking for some water (then negotiating getting it taken off your bill). The final and most important aspect of my stay - the service. Generally a superb service level everywhere. Check in by Lucky was excellent. The guys on the door are always there - I never even had to open the door! And I’ve watched them handle some ‘demanding’ guests well. The person managing cars coming in / out quickly recognised us and we would get through in a breeze. The restaurant staff were excellent and lots of them. Service was the highlight of my stay. In summary, superb service, wonderful views and the perfect location. Thank you for a wonderful stay! 401

Service, facilities and location were all great. There is a whiskey room in the hotel that is very much worth using, particularly in the evening. Breakfast buffet was well done. Comfort of rooms made each night easy to sleep, we had a view of Table Top Mtn. Luckily no table cloth while at the hotel.

A beautiful & stately hotel on the waterfront, right across the street from the Museum of Contemporary African Art & steps from some very fun shopping at the Watershed (small individual artists/makers ) along with a larger mall for anything you may have missed or need. The staff was incredibly welcoming & the food was fabulous.

Our third stay at The Cape Grace was again excellent: Apart from the great location and the well-equipped and well-maintained rooms, it is the friendliness of the staff that really stands out. Thanks to the entire team, in particular Aidan and the concierge team, the super staff at the bar and the friendly doormen, for making us feel welcome and special. We will be glad to return to the Cape Grace for our next stay in Cape Town.

The best hotel in Africa, this is a top notch, high quality establishment, run by a dedicated and empathetic team. They cannot do enough for you and go the extra mile, day in day out. Whether it’s the room cleaners, the fabulously enthusiastic breakfast team, the concierge or the guys on the front door, everyone is happy, smiley and committed to making your stay the best. Outstanding location, brilliant bar and cellar, run by a super team too and just an all round perfect stay. Immense.

Our family of six (including four young adults) were at the Cape Grace for four nights over New Years and found it to be an exceptional experience. All three of our rooms were top-notch quality, comfort, and cleanliness, and expansive enough for older siblings to share comfortably. And the service was consistently exceptional for all of us. Even the one small hiccup - when one of the door locks failed to unlock - was dealt with swiftly, efficiently, and non-disruptively. Its location in the V&A Waterfront provided tons of options for easy nearby meals, and for solo wandering and exploring during the days.
