We came wanting to see the big 5 and have a great weekend. We got the big 4 and a great weekend! We shared a room which was really great. Big enough for sure. Outdoor shower was refreshing. Huts are really cool, all amenities that you need are here. Very relaxed vibe , amazing food and so much of it!... More

My family and I recently enjoyed one of the most amazing weekends at Aquila Safari! The trip was planned for my aunt's 50th birthday celebration and what better way than to celebrate in Mother Nature with the help of this amazing property! Staff were warm and welcoming and what swift and efficient service! The 3 bedroom cottage was perfectly set... More

I visited with my wife and two year old for the overnight experience which included two safari tours, all meals and accommodation in a decent room. We were very happy with the experience, my toddler was really really excited to see all the animals from his favourite movie Madagascar! We saw zebras, giraffes, ostriches, hippos, rhinos and elephants on the... More

Aquila has a captive foreign tourist trade and it seems like they can get away with an expensive but low quality experience. The staff were mostly disinterested and management were absent. Our room was "tired" and needed basic maintenance. The doors didn't shut properly. We chose to pay extra for a Standard Luxury Cottages rather than stay in the lodge.... More

Even if the check-in was a bit cold, the room are at a high level, at least those in the big building. With view on the park. Meals are very correct and service on table is OK. Price is OK for that kind of lodge.

we decided to stay over at the aquila instead of the day trip. it was indeed a smart decision. the stay included 2 safaris and was all inclusive. i believe it was the more cost effective solution to the day trip. we went on 2 safari`s-one in the evening and other one early in the morning.we did see the big... I loved everything about this place. It was more of a trip around a reserve rather than a safari but that didn't matter to me, I got to see a bunch of animal clearly happy in their space and spend the night in a fabulous cottage as well.

My wife and I booked a day trip at Aquila which included transfers from our hotel and back. Our driver Sam picked us up at 6h30 the morning and we had a 2-hour drive through the breathtaking Du Toitskloof on the way to Touwsriver. Upon arrival we had a welcome drink and then we proceeded to the dining hall for... More

We booked two nights at Aquila for the last two days of our honeymoon in the Cape. I had been onto the website, and from the description, it sounded like the normal game reserve that you'd find in SA, like Pilanesburg or Kruger. This was not what we experienced, and I now understand why they advertise day trips and overnights... More

Had a pleasant experience at the reserve, I and a friend stayed for an overnight safari visit. We had two tours: 4x4 drive in the afternoon and a horse riding safari next morning. We've seen baby hippos and baby rhinos, elephants, lions, wilderbeest and plenty of other animals. You have to keep in mind, these animals are rescued, so there... More
