We loved the purple house. This was our first visit to SA, and Henk and Guido were the perfect hosts; they went out of their way to advise and help us. The breakfast is excellent and the home made cakes delicious. The location is perfect, close to lovely bars and restaurants and a short walk to the V&A waterfront. Thank you for the recommendations and especially the Mount Nelson Hotel ....a perfect venue for a lazy New Years Day. We would highly recommend this B&B like staying with good freinds.
We had the most wonderful stay at the Purple house on our first visit to Cape Town, and we were so grateful for our friends who recommended it. It is centrally located in the historical and trendy Te Waterkant neighborhood in Cape town. One can walk everywhere and lots of good restaurants around and a great liitle Cape Quarter mall. Guido and Henk were fantastic host who went out of their way to be helpful with advice (thanks for the Baraka Giftshop recommendation!). Their place is spotless clean, very stylish and they serve a wonderful breakfast. Highly recommended!
Guido and Henk were fabulous hosts, very helpful with everything asked of them, breakfast was fabulous and tasty and set on a beautiful patio, the accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable, would recommend to anybody. There were plenty of bars and restaurants in the area and it took 15 minutes to walk to the Waterfront and only a few rand in an uber
We stayed in the Red Corner Townhouse (self catering property) that is managed by the proprietors of Purple House B&B. Two small bedrooms are very basic and a little tight for real comfort; there is a very tiny bathroom in one bedroom and a very large bathroom with double rain shower upstairs outside the 2nd bedroom; kitchen area is open and modern with a large table for gathering and access to a quaint patio and lovely rooftop deck. Coffee is provided but you'll need to purchase everything else you might need. Very nice that the unit has a washing machine but clothes take days to air dry in Cape Town so be thoughtful about needing to do laundry unless you have plenty of time to allow for air drying. The design/decor of this property is artistic and comfortable; security is good; and location is super convenient to Cape Town attractions like the city center, waterfront, a nice mall for groceries/wine/etc. and many nice restaurants. Henk and Guido were helpful and accommodating with questions and recommendations.…
Guido and Henk were fabulous hosts and extremely helpful. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and breakfasts in the garden were delightful. The area is very trendy and there are a host of great bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk - it is also only a short walk to the V&A Waterfront.
