Situated in the heart of Cape Town, the Queen Victoria Hotel welcomes guests to experience the very essence of distinguished luxury, where classic elegance meets contemporary design. Its prime location in a quiet, historic precinct near to the V&A Waterfront allows for a serene city escape as well as convenient access to a range of outstanding amenities. The hotel’s regal ambience is felt throughout the property, from its triple-volume foyer with a dramatic spiral staircase and glass lift, crystal chandeliers and marble finishes, to its spacious rooms and breathtaking suites. This grandeur, along with fine touches, expected of five-star properties, and hospitable service have earned the Queen Victoria, also referred to as the QV, recognition as one of the top 25 luxury hotels in South Africa. As its name suggests, this hotel truly is fit for royalty.

We spent 4 nights at the Queen Victoria Hotel and it was a great experience. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out the service was excellent. This is a boutique hotel that is situated in a great location right next to the V&A waterfront. The rooms are a great size with a large bathroom that has a shower and a bath tub and everything is clean and tidy. Special shout out to Llewellyn, Zaida and Oswell who helped make our stay a pleasant one. We were sad to leave this beautiful hotel and this gorgeous city but will most definitely be back.

What a lovely hotel. Very welcoming. We arrived off a night flight and they let us check in early so we could have a few hours sleep. The room was lovely and light with a big comfy bed. It was very clean and spacious room and quite. Breakfast was lovely with a great choice. Lovely coffee. Jason and his team looked after us very well. To have a hotel so central and to be quite is a unique thing. They couldn’t do enough for us. They even looked after our luggage while we went off on safari and collected it on the way through to another hotel. Set in a wonderful location. Lovely large light rooms. First class in every way. Thank you from Jon and Joanne

This beautiful boutique 5* hotel actually exceeded our expectations: despite our early arrival at 9am post-flight, we were positively welcomed and shown to our Mountain-View Junior Suite which was magnificent in all respects. The location, with all harbour amenities, varied restaurants, bars and shops in immediate proximity, was ideal and its own facilities with spa, gardens and swimming pool were welcoming, relaxing and well-enjoyed. But the true strength of this hotel is its staff: outstandingly attentive. Special mentions for Vakalisa (duty manager: ubiquitously kind and attentive), Llewellyn (front office assistant: for his welcome and early accommodation of our arrival) and doormen/bellboys Oswald and Christopher (for their enduring smiles, guidance, courtesy and greetings).

The hotel is located just away from the waterfront in Cape Town, within easy walking distance but with the privacy afforded by its setting Rooms are very good with spacious bathrooms. Food for breakfast lunch and dinner is served in the well appointed dining room. Breakfast can be taken on the outside with views to table mountain. All the staff are polite and extremely helpful

The attractive atrium style lobby impresses upon entering this hotel. Before one has a chance to look for a reception counter, someone takes you to a reception desk where you sit down to register. Staff were friendly and efficient. When we asked how to get to the HOHO bus, a bellboy walked with us outside of the hotel for a minute or so to show us the way. We had a premium room with a king size bed; room #1209. The room is spacious and on a corner; It has a lot of windows. The furniture is in a modern attractive style. The bathroom in this hotel room is so large, it makes the hotel room feel like two rooms. The bathroom is literally “down the hall” from the bed. Some furniture (like the armoire) is located in the hall outside the bathroom. In the “bedroom”, there are two night-tables, a smallish work (or make-up) table, a divan (!) and a small side table for the divan. The bathroom has a separate bathtub and shower arrangement; both are large. The counter has two sinks and mirrors. The toilet is in its own small room.d One small negative is the lighting near those mirrors; one bright light between the two mirrors cannot light up both sides of one’s face. Our room was very clean, as were the public areas. Some of the corridors look out onto the atrium. There is also a circular stair case that we used to go down to the lobby from our room, instead of the glass-walled elevator.

I have to agree 100% with the review below by Carol R. The hotel is beautiful, rooms spacious and with everything you need. But the staff were just excellent - professional but friendly. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, we also ate there for dinner (portions big so be aware!). It is a very easy walk down to the Waterfront yet far enough away that you don’t have any noise. The only thing I would consider is a different room as we had one with a window and it looked out to the back. On later stays elsewhere on the Garden Route we had either small balconies or a room looking over a bay or sea, so next time I would see if I could upgrade to have a better view. But a minor point on what was a wonderful hotel and experience.

Room Tip: Perhaps check before arriving if you can have a room facing the waterfront rather than the rear...

I cannot say enough good things about The Queen Victoria Hotel and Manor House. The lodging itself was amazing, we had a lovely pool and our room were pristine every day. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to dinner every night at the water front based on suggestions from staff. But what made our stay incredibly valuable was the hospitality shown by the staff every day toward our family. We started each day at breakfast with Carol, our lovely waitress and friend, who just took the best care of us. She knew all of our orders at the end of the trip and would check in with each of our family members. She was kind, efficient, and the food was lovely. Our breakfast would be served in front of a lovely view of table mountain too! Then we would end our night with a drink in the lobby with wonderful bartenders such as Lovemore, who was so knowledgeable and happy. I could not reccommend this place enough. What a lovely experience. Thank you to the whole staff!

This was a hotel that we booked last minute due to a reservation we cancelled at another hotel for letting us down. We only stayed one night -- but Wow! Just Wow! First off, the room was huge, the fixtures elegant, the bathroom luxurious, and the staff were the absolute best of any of the five hotels we stayed at in South Africa this trip. The service everywhere in Cape Town is generally good -- but sometimes it can feel a bit rehearsed and often a bit forced. Nothing like this at the Queen Victoria Hotel. EVERY time we walked into the hotel past reception the greeting was so warm, so sincere, the comments friendly, the offers for assistance completely genuine. Our flight for home didn't leave until after ten in the evening -- and we had to check out at 11 in the morning -- but even then, the team was so amazing. They stored our luggage, offered the use of their facilities, allowed us to shower in the spa before we left and literally RAN to help us with our suitcases when the taxi came to take us to the airport. The team members that we want to thank are just too long to mention them all... but everyone from the doorman to the butler at the Manor House to the entire team at the bar and in the restaurant were some of the kindest I have ever met at any hotel in the world. They made us promise them that we would be back -- and I can say that we definitely will be. Just Thank you all for such an incredible experience -- I never thought one night would leave such a lasting impression!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Queen Victoria. The room was nice, the pool lovely, the (included) breakfast delightful, the location to the waterfront perfect - and the staff outstanding! Every time we left or came back we were greeted and asked about our time in Cape Town. Jason, Orwal, Carol and so many others made for a lovely visit.
