We had 2 studios rooms and they were very nicely decorated and spacious. Enough place to store your stuff, a kitchen style area and a nice bar! The shower smelled a bit damped and that was a pity. Also the staff is very nice and friendly but one of them could help telling us where to go to park to go to Robben island and I wished she knew the touristy deal a bit better. Also we rented a car and the valeted if free of change. That’s a big plus. We got a good recommandation on a next door sushi place., nothing fancy. Just like we wanted it (Nori sushi)
We flew into Cape Town and wanted to stay a few nights before heading into Paarl. I had found this hotel online and it’s in the area in which I prefer to stay so I can walk to favorite restaurants and shopping in GreenMarket Square. Booking was easy as was communication with hotel staff. We used the hotel transportation. Because we traveled with a child, I had ordered carseat use from the company hired by the hotel. When the hotel arrived, the carseat was personally owned by the driver and not installed. This was a waste considering we were trying to save time so we installed our own at that point. The driver was very friendly and we had no concerns with the company itself. This is just an FYI for families who may consider the surcharge for carseat usage - do not rely on this. The hotel far exceeded our expectations! The front staff was so friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in as our arrival was midmorning. Because we visited in the height of Omicron, tourism was down. The hotel staff took off the carseat surcharge. Upon arrival, our TV did nto work. The staff came right away and fixed it and we were given vouchers for a cocktail for inconvenience. They bring you welcome drinks upon arrival and are available at any time for questions or needed items. We loved that the staff was consistent so we felt like we knew who would be where by the time we left. They were very accommodating and friendly to my daughter. Our room was so hip and so gorgeous! Even my 4-year-old daughter loved it and thought it was the best hotel! The best part? The shower! The water pressure was divine, and this was the best shower experience I've ever had at a hotel. We wanted to just be in the shower all the time. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The price was great, especially after seeing how luxurious and trendy the hotel and rooms were. Several restaurants and shops are nearby to get grocery type items or take-out in addition to dine-in experiences. We went to the restaurant a few times for breakfast or cocktails and I loved the vibe of the outside seating area, the pool and the cozy indoor seating areas. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Cape Town on our next family trip!…
Stayed at this lovely little hotel on a recent trip to Cape Town. While the hotel was great, and I would recommend it, this review is entirely dedicated to the restaurant on the top floor of this hotel. We came here daily for breakfast, and it was so great that I suggested we come here again one night for dinner. With the exception of proposing to my wife, one of the best decisions of my life. Having dined all over the world, at several 3 Michelin Star restaurants, let me tell you that this unassuming gem falls into the top 5 meals I've ever had in my life. I may or may not have actually shed a tear out of pure joy. My eyes forcibly closed on me during each bite. The hip, trendy, and yet casual ambiance further added to the experience. Chef, staff, team, god bless you all for your heavenly gifts. I hope to have the fortune of getting a chance to return one day.…
What a lovely hotel, stylish, cool, amazing. Located in the city center, lovely staff in all areas and the rooms are fantastic. Dinner and drinks are also „gorgeous“. We still have a few days to stay here, but we can already confirm that „Gorgeous Georg“ is really GORGEOUS. We have been in CPT before in other nice places, but this hotel / restaurant / bar is definitely a place to visit at least twice.
Love this hotel, the design in the rooms and common areas is super trendy and service is above and beyond! Great food and atmosphere on the top floor as well. Location is very central and you can walk to a lot of restaurants, shops etc. Definitely coming back.
We booked the Gorgeous George many months ago. After asking for our payment details they took out the full amount for the entire stay instead of just the deposit. Ok. Fast forward to now. We just received a notice our stay is cancelled and the hotel is fully booked because we didn’t pay our deposit… Now we’re scrambling to find a new place that can accommodate us and our 1 yr old. Terrible service all round.
Situated in the CBD of Cape Town this hotel is a perfect stopover for a night. The rooms are really well designed - funky and functional - and all the action happens on the rooftop where there is a bar and restaurant. We had a great dinner and good night's sleep.
The Gorgeous George Hotel was so cute - our room was spacious and clean. The Netflix account was a definite plus! The staff was very kind and attentive. The restaurant was delicious. We'd love to visit again!
Wonderful stay, 3 times already in two weeks. Don’t get fool with first impression of the lobby, wait until you get to the room. Amazing design, cozy, I feel I’m at home. Clean room and bed, nice shower and toilet with own branded amenities. After this stay, I confirm this boutique hotel are much much better than 5 starts hotel I wasted my money and time to stay. Staff all over the place, housekeeping, reception, resturant, even maintenance staff are all friendly and attentive. Rooftop restaurant is a real passionate, a life resturant, and excellent breakfast and food. Trust me, make this place your home when you come to Capetown, I promise you wont regret!!!
The Gorgeous George is, as the name suggests, gorgeous! The staff are friendly and the rooms are decadent and beautiful. I absolutely loved the attention to detail and the local designer flair. The Gigi bar is stunning, and breakfast was delicious (best avo I've ever eaten!). I really do hope we get to visit again soon.
