It was a bit difficult to find the place, hidden under the bridge. Other than that, friendly and helpful reception that really gives you the feel of being on a train station platform. Real actual train accommodation.

its a good and economic place to stay in but ,l think here and there it needs touch ups 1.blankets revision ...its so cold in cape town you should consider adding some blankets 2.WiFi connection - when the bar closes at 9 there is no more WiFi connection ..you should consider extending it to the sleeping rooms especially for business... at train lodge you get what you pay for, which is ok. the main thing that I want them to improve on is the internet, if they could atleast have internet in their rooms so that people don't gather in the loung area just for internet.....its a good way of meeting people but still internet in the rooms is needed.... All the staff that I dealt with were very pleasant, efficient and helpfull. As I well new that I would be sleeping in a converted railway carriage compartment, I realised that it would be a bit cramped. The matress was very comfortable for a good night's sleep and the room was clean. It would be nice if some hooks could... More

If you're looking for a reasonably-priced place to stay in the heart of Cape Town, the Train Lodge is your answer! My Mum and I just stayed there for 8 nights and loved the friendly atmosphere and staff, good food, and authentic experience of staying in a decommisioned train compartment. The rooms are tiny, but there is good storage under... More

Total Unhappiness with your facilities. The ablution facilities were completely unsanitary with dirt all over the place as well as the sleeping areas. There is a complete lack of privacy as the doors do not as so much lock in the resting rooms. The actual Bedroom which I had "booked", then being given the opportunity to choose from the 2... More
